We stayed two nights in this hotel. The first look is the wrong one, the personnel, the restaurant are especially good and most of the rooms are ok. You may swin in the lake down to the hotel or have other experiences like red or colorful gorges and so forth however swimming in the lake with an inflated tire is...

We were camping as part of the Wayoutback 5 day 'safari' and Glen Helen was home for 2 nights. This place is on one level austere/very basic, on another - characterful and welcoming. Everything about the infrastructure says - update me, replace me, do away with me... But the welcome is fantastic from all the staff and the facilities -...

Really just wanted to stay overnight as I wanted to explore the surrounding area and wasn't really expecting too much. The view around the homestead is very delightful and pleasant, especially as it had been raining a bit and the river was in flow. It was very nice to sit and relax with a cold refreshment and take it all...

You're in the middle of nowhere so we didn't set our standards high to begin with. Nice room, sufficient, but the bathroom was old scruffy and could really use a remodeling. Diner was fine, sadly there was no airco in the dining room so we couldnt wait to finish and get out of there. Due to the floods the road...

First the positives. A warm welcome, very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful location. Really the only place to stay if you're driving from Alice Springs to Kings Canyon. Restaurant meal apparently really good (see below), looked nice, great service and very good wine list. Air con in room worked well. But...the room was, at best, manky. In need of a...

Stayed just for the night. Had a a nice cool beer on the terrace (the view is out of this world) and had great meal at the restaurant (can recommend the kangaroo, yummie). The room on the other hand. Ouch. You pay a fair amount of money for a room that is very outdated (dirty carpets, dirty walls, and well,...

The setting in which this lodge is located is stunning. We (my wife and children) stayed in a room overlooking the Finke River and a magnificent rock face. This lodge has an outback quirkiness which we really enjoyed. The rooms are basic and a tad shabby. But having said that, we loved it. We were in the middle of nowhere,...

We staid here for only one night but would have staid longer if we could. First of all, the staff is amazing! Very friendly and very helpful. The rooms may be small but are very cozy. The diner and the breakfast were delicious (try the pancakes ;-)). When you walk out of your room in the morning, you'll get an...

The view of the gorge wall from our room with the waterhole below was magnificent. There's a restaurant or barbecue pack that you can order and cook yourself. The waterhole is divine for a swim or there's a swimming pool. Prices are comparable with the area. If you are visiting the West McDonnell Ranges and you have time, use Glen...
