If you want an authentic Greek hotel and friendly Greek hospitality you must go to Hotel Meganissi. A beautiful island, beautiful people. Great for walking and exploring the countryside. Beaches are clean and Fanari beach has a good taverna for lunch. Diner under the stars at the hotel is magical.

Another brilliant two heavenly weeks here again. The perfect antidote to London. George remains at the top of his game as a host and The rest of the family complete the experience. A real bonus was very little wasps this year!! I love the fact that practically nothing changes much here. The food remains some of the best on the... More

If you want to experience authentic Greek hospitality & food then this is the hotel for you. It's peaceful, quiet & calm. Always sun beds around the pool & a snack bar. The rooms are functional with really comfy beds & great air conditioning. Greek plumbing does not allow for strong showers! They are ok though. Vathy town (15 mins downhill... More

The host George couldn't have made anyone feel more welcome. For what was a budget holiday price our little room was very acceptable indeed with a nice balcony view of the pool and harbour beyond plus air conditioning. Rooms were kept clean and tidy by the maids on a daily basis and the hotel meals provided excellent home cooked Greek... More

We booked this hotel on a B&B basis as part of a 'package' tour as we were in need of a 'Greek fix' both having travelled extensively throughout the wonderful Greek islands Everything about the hotel, its wonderful staff and its suberb location satisfied our craving but also the traditional welcome and local charm went beyond our expectations. Our room... More

Our third May visit to this wonderful family run hotel on the tranquil island of Meganissi. As before the peaceful setting was just what we needed for complete relaxation. Much of the time the only sounds were the twitters of the sparrows and swallows swooping around the building or perching on the wires outside our window. It all seems a... More

Stayed here for a week on a choral workshop held by a close neighbour of the hotel, repeating a similar visit 4 years ago. The hotel is located in the village of Katomeri, just up the hill from the port of Vathy. Our superior room on the lowest floor of the annex was very comfortable and looked towards the east... More

My 3rd visit. Lovely staff, helpful manager. Fantastic view from my room over olive groves, punctuated by cypress trees, to the distant mountains. Very quiet village but only a 10 minute walk to Vathy (the little port) where there are lots of restaurants. Very friendly people. Great for walkers (but take sturdy footwear) and in May the wild flowers and... More

You are certainly catered for at this family owned and run hotel, nothing is too much trouble and all the staff are lovely. Previous reviews cover all aspects of how nice George is and how lovely the Island and its surroundings are, accurately. We found a week to be enough to see everything more than once. A very relaxing week... More
