Stayed overnight on the way back from Scotland. Nice pub (large) with polite staff. The rooms were terrific, barely a year old but decorated with style. Clean, comfortable and quiet. The restaurant menu is very extensive (I can recommend the chicken and beef sizzler with sweet chilli sauce) and the food is great - and hot. Breakfast was just as...

We were staying at nearby Slayley Hall for the weekend and had arranged to meet friends at the Anchor Inn for lunch. It was our friends choice of venue and what a choice. The staff were very helpful and the food was good. We only had a snack but was served promptly and the choice available was quite extensive. We...

Had several meals here over the past 6 months and its never failed to deliver. There's a good range of meals to choose from the main menu with some delicious choices on the specials boards. The staff are always professional and friendly and the atmosphere is a typical homely local pub, just great whatever the season.

The bar staff were helpful, chatty and friendly, as was breakfast waitress. Very welcoming good clean pleasant rooms. Enjoyed my pizza. Loved the breakfast. I had scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. Yummy! Very generous. I'll go back again.

Stayed here from Friday the 13th January to Monday the 16th January on a three night stay. From the minute of arriving we was welcomed straight away and showed up to our room which was called the Derwent Room. The room was immaculate and brand new over looking the valley a spectacular view. We booked this just for a weekend...

We stayed here last night, we were at a wedding at Derwent Manor, the rooms are stunning, food amazing and the staff are lovely, not too expensive and well worth it. I just wish we spent more time there. Thanks Anchor Inn

Not been for a while but will be going back soon. The menu is quite extensive. The haddock and chips are delicious. Fish is huge and very tasty but even though it was crispy it could have done with a little longer to drain as there was quite a lot of grease on the plate. Service very efficient.
