Paradise Found! What a treasure to uncover, in terms of a stay for children we struck GOLD! Right from the start the children were sold on the delightful idea to convert train carriages into accommodation. Once we arrived they were excited and captivated by the spacious grounds of a lovely country setting complete with lively domestic flora and fauna. There...

Thank you very much for taking the time to post a review, we understand that after a nice holiday guests intend sitting down and posting a review, but once home other priorities prevail and this issue becomes more distant. And, fair enough too! But the vast majority of our guests express shear joy after their stay here, and it's very...

This was our 2nd stop on our Great Ocean Drive weekend roadtrip and admittedly, we didn't really do much research, we googled and the pictures looked good so we booked. As soon as you drive onto the property (which is a way from Port Fairy but please remember this is no city so of course things are going to be...

Thanks for your review. The Doona is actually a Bedspread, we don't use Doona's we set the beds up "old style" with 100% Cotton Sheets & Pillow Cases & 100% Pure Wool Blanket. The Bedspread is to finish the bedroom off with a nice decorative touch. So, sorry about you feeling uncomfortable with the bed cover. Anyway, we hope to...

We stayed here for one night while driving the Great Ocean Road between Melbourne and Adelaide. We'd originally planned to stay in Port Fairy but so glad we didn't. We booked one of the converted train carriages. They're not luxurious but they are comfortable and more than adequate, plus excellent value for money. The owner Geoff was friendly, helpful and...

Thank you very much for taking the time to write your review and for the encouraging comments. The "distance" to our property from Port Fairy seems to be a topical issue, some see it as a negative to off-set, others see it as a major positive reason to come and stay with us. People do love this region, but frequently...

Love the gardens, adore the converted carriage and breakfast was awesome! Not too far away from portland but far enough to make it feel like an exclusive getaway. Thanks Geoff, I'd love to stay with you again some time.

Thank you, we really appreciate that you took the time to write a review giving potential guests a better overall perspective of our property. Too often people that are unsatisfied will go out of their way to make a comment, whereas, people that have enjoyed their holiday go home relaxed and the last thing they think about is going on-line...

From the moment we arived to the moment we left the only words coming out of my mouth were 'WOW' and 'AMAZING!'. I can't give the place enough praise, but I will try. I was in complete awe of the stunning gardens, abundance fo wild life, and supurb hospitality. For me the highlights included the peacocks whom roamed freely around...

Brilliant, it's just so rewarding for Yuan & I when guests enjoy their stay here with us. You're comments are reflective of what we're trying to achieve and along with such a large majority of our guests you've enjoyed the concept. Thanks for your input. Please come again, we've got Mini Horses now too.

Arriving at Codrington Gardens we were surprised at how beautiful the place was. Firstly, we arrived and took rest in the 'Settlers Cottage' - Which I must say was very cozy and complete with all the things you need on a holiday. We were greeted by the owners Geoff and Yuan who were very kind and polite. Codrington Gardens is...

Great, thanks, you've pointed out all the things we've tried so hard to achieve and all the benefits we feel are on offer when you stay on our property. We look forward to your return. Our repeat visit numbers are growing at about 15% per ann, not bad for a small family business, and reflective of what the vast majority...

We booked this hotel through a hotel booking website, mistakenly thinking that it was in the town of Port Fairy (as it was labelled). It turned out to be a 20 minute drive from there, through dark, unlit roads in the late evening. Our inattention caused us a 40 minute detour from and back to Port Fairy, as we had...

NOT 20 MINUTES from Port Fairy. Hi, Thanks for your review, and we are sorry for the spider issue, we’ve taken steps to ensure there are and will not be any undue spider guests in that or any other room on our property. As much as is sensibly possible. As for the 20 minute drive from Port Fairy, you must...

The owners Geoff and Yuan were very friendly and helpful. The place has a unique feel with train carriages, the garden and the animals. The room we stayed in was outdated and a bit dusty. The restaurant menu could do with a better selection and many items on the menu weren't available.

Hi, Thanks for your review. The menu isn’t fixed, we don’t carry everything on hand, and the restaurant doesn’t open as a public Al a Carte business, we cook only for guests, we make it very clear (on our site) that if you wish to have your evening meal here you need to order in advance, as we prep the...

CG has novel accommodation and setting. Sleeping in the train carriage was fun. Geoff was our very thoughtful host who cooked a meal for us in advance when he knew we were arriving late. We enjoyed a restful night, good breakfast and would definitely return.
