Lovely setting and friendly staff and people. The timeshares are kept very clean and the grounds are secure and well-guarded. Setting is well-positioned between Dutch and French sides of the island. The hotel and casino remain unbuilt. Timeshare suite sofas and chairs are the most uncomfortable you can imagine and need to be replaced. Painful! Timeshare administration seems to struggle with conflict avoidance, filling you in with disappointments spoonful by painful spoonful after you arrive rather than work things out over the phone and email before you arrive.

We spent a week at the Dawn Beach Club, which is the timeshare property connected to the former Westin Dawn Beach Hotel. (The hotel has been bought by Marriott but remains closed due to extensive damage from Hurricane Irma in 2017.) The timeshare accommodations were completely redone after Irma. They remain very fresh, tastefully decorated and the beds and linens are supremely comfortable. There is a fitness center with several machines and dumbbells. The infinity pool area and swim-up bar are beautiful and set with a gorgeous view of the Atlantic Ocean. The drinks and food are reasonably priced, although food service times are somewhat limited but the quality was very, very good. It is a wonderful place to relax and soak up the sun while listening to island music and crashing waves. All dining is outdoors due to the Irma damage to the hotel. Please note that you can pay with credit cards or US cash but the only way to tip the staff is with cash. The beach is beautiful too and is all on-property, so no vendors etc. Although there is a protective reef, the water is very choppy under the incessant east wind and there are a lot of rocks. I love the Atlantic surf on Florida’s east coast but this was much better to view than enter. The staff are extremely helpful and eager to take care of any needs. We did not get approached by salespeople except to say hello and welcome. The property is right next to Oyster Bay which has a number of restaurants, and of course the whole island is easily accessible by car.

Room Tip: Bring cash for tipping. Swim in the pool not the ocean.

Just back home after spending a week at the Dawn Beach Club. I stayed in Building B. The 3 bedroom suite was lovely with high end amenities. I absolutely loved the bed and linens. I am a night owl and usually stay up well past midnight. I found myself longing to enjoy the bed around 8:00pm. It has been years since I have slept for 8+ hours. The staff are very pleasant, courteous and helpful. The resort is isolated and you would need to rent a car or taxi to further explore the wonderful island. If you are good with frolicking in the pool and enjoying the beach, no issue. You are able to order groceries before you arrive. There is limited dining options: 4 entrees, 2 types of sandwiches and hot dogs. I had tuna with lettuce and tomatoes, a turkey club and penne with mussels. All were tasty and well prepared. The pool is a jewel, the beach is a bit rough, you should be a good swimmer if you use the beach. There is a restaurant at a nearby resort that has an eclectic menu, happy hour and nightly entertainment. I am giving the resort 4 out of 5 stars because it does not have a mini market (you may need over the counter meds, water, soft drinks etc) and the kitchen closes at 5pm. If you want 5 star accommodations, ocean views and serenity you will enjoy your stay

My friends and I stayed here for a week in a timeshare and everything about the resort is beautiful! The views. The pools. The amenities! The resort was relatively empty due to covid restrictions but we didn’t mind having it all to ourselves! The staff were polite and the villa was huge! Again, there want much happening on the resort but we made the best of it. Would definitely recommend!
