Not your typical resort with NO small daily shampoo/conditioner etc. They are trying to upkeep the place but seems to lack strong leadership. The beaches are in sad condition. No upkeep. Lots of empty bottles, cigarette buds, here 5 days now, same trash from day one. I'm used to seeing staff clean the beaches daily, not here. Met a couple while they were at check out, they said its a rip off at check out with energy fee. We shall see. Place is boring, met other people who own here, they are only ones who made this place ok. Won't come back, oh yes, disorganized during the buffet night. Not a place for teenagers or young adults at all. Snorkeling was OK, something you can do at other beaches yourself, even on the west end. The scam between resort and the stingray trip us ridiculous, no clear direction where to meet, charging and signing up at beach, took forever to get us all on boat. Drinks were cheap, 60 bucks for pictures we never got via email, which they make you pay on boat out at sea, no way to confirm received until you connect to internet.…
Stayed for a week end of July-early August. Had a 2 bedroom although we were only 2 people. In Londoner a/c unit says "do not turn off" so we closed the 2nd bedroom door, turned a/c to 80. Put living room to 80, Master to 75-77. We went to front desk every to ask why the dehumidifier NEVER shut off. They kept blowing us off. We finally asked to have maintainance come look at, he said dial was broken & on the wrong setting, should go off soon. Never did. Next day waited again for maintainance, over an hour. Turns out unit was broken. So front desk tells us electric bill for 2, out all day. Never used the dishwasher, 3 small loads of laundry, cooktop 5 days, a/c in 1 bedroom some lights, $150.00 for the week. They were reluctant to give us discount for the broken dehumidifier. Spent way too much time debating with management about their faulty equipment. Will not be retuning to this resort, not looking forward to spending time at the front desk.…
We stayed a week at Morritt's in early August 2022. There were many features of the resort to like, but some lack of competence and customer service that management could attend to. On arrival we were a bit early but we were assigned a room that was "ready". When we opened the door it had not been cleaned. We were advised by cleaning staff it would be cleaned directly. However, this took about two hours. We were waiting outside the door about an hour with our luggage before we gave up, packed up the car and went out for a bit. On leaving, to check my bill, I found I had been overcharged for snorkel rental. The shop had been closed during their "open" hours for a consecutive afternoon and the next morning so I couldn't return it on time. So I gave it to the front desk so as not to be overcharged. I was overcharged anyway, and the snorkel rental desk person (Sunday shift) was rude about this, advising me that "In the future if I rent something from one location I would return it there". Charges for tax and electricity were excessive. Management blind spots here despite some nice hard working people, and generally clean and safe, but somewhat isolated resort. You'll need a car.…
The resort is nice. It has a couple of restaurants and one right on the water. The rooms were good and had a full kitchen. Fresh towels are available and 3 pools. There are several local restaurants within a short ride. The Tucca restaurant has a free shuttle and the food was very good. I definitely recommend Tucca and la Casita which is a local authentic Mexican food. The downside is the seaweed which they remove daily and their pier allows you to dive in past the seaweed and snorkel, swim, or enjoy the large floating tube. This resort is on the East end so it’s a 45-60 minute drive from the airport. There is also a local grocery store and liquor store right across the street. We had a $150 utility fee for our room. The conversion rate was 1.25 so the $10 bottle of wine in Cayman $ is actually $12.5 US. The last thing I would recommend is the 3 stop snorkeling tour from Ocean Frontiers. It was only $50 and is just about seeing fish and shipwrecks. No cheap booze included. The crew was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. They personally assisted one of the passengers who was 72 years old and didn’t initially want to participate…
We booked via my sister-in-law with a time share, and really did not know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised because we got an updated studio room. I hope they decide to change the stools in the room, because they were too high to comfortably sit at the bar to eat, work on computer, etc. That was my only complaint. Otherwise the room was very comfortable, and we were able to cook in our room (especially for breakfast). There is a Foster's Grocery nearby with the necessities. Housekeeping did a great job keeping our room clean, the staff was extremely friendly. Food onsite was fresh and tasty, particularly the seafood. We also dove with Tortuga Divers on-site. We rented a car, and explored most of the island. We learned we were on the "quiet" East End. Locals prefer the area because it is how Cayman used to be. We enjoyed eating at Tukka & Eagle Ray Restaurant on the East End as well. Will definitely consider a return trip to Grand Cayman.…
he resort was not friendly to people who exchanged outside the owners. put a LOTof rules on us. the gave us different wrist bands and picked on us all week about not being able to do certain thinks. But owner could do whatever.
We traded a timeshare for the Morritt’s Grand through II. We had a lovely 2 bedroom unit that was very nicely furnished and a beautiful view of the beach. If you want a palapa at the beach or umbrella at the pool you must get there early…6:30 am. There was quite a bit of seaweed which they clean daily. It is just the time of year. We noticed seaweed on the other side of the island too. Look up Caribbean seaweed on the internet. Housekeeping was fabulous. The grocery and liquor store across the street was very convenient to replenish anything you run out of. If you’re trading a timeshare, there is a $10 USD tax per day. You are also responsible for electricity. We were there for 5 nights and our bill was $231 USD. We did not leave doors open or keep it particularly cold. 73 degrees. We really enjoyed our trip and already thinking of returning. There are quite a few good restaurants in the area. We enjoyed Tukka and The Italian Kitchen. NOTE: be sure and take water shoes. There is a small coral/rock ridge you must cross to get to the blue water to snorkel.…
my family had a wonderful time at morrits. the pools were great with many fun activities through the day. my older grandsons really enjoyed the beach vollyball in the afternoons. we would go back to morrits anytime. particularly loved the east end for the lack of traffic.
We enjoyed visit to Morritt’s Tortuga Club. We were looking for a quiet Caribbean respite and this resort provided that. First nite we ate in the Cavern (a Beatles tribute venue upstairs) and found Jody to be an excellent hostess/bartender. Meals we also had a Mimi’s dockside bar were very good & staff was friendly & musical entertainment and balmy breezes made for seversl pleasant evenings.
Resort was clean and updated. Staff was very friendly in all areas. Did have an issue with end of stair tread coming loose, it was fixed immediately. You will need a car to get about island and will have to drive 30-40 mins but there is a store across the street. On site restaurants have varied menus so you don't have to drive anywhere if you don't want to. Watching the fish get fed at Mimi's desk is fun, you can also snorkel there. Beaches on east side are a little harder to access with rocks for snorkling.
