2021 Travellers' Choice Best of the Best
Its inspired design combines the charm of a Spanish colonial village with the laid-back sensuality of the Caribbean and the stylish sophistication of streamlined, modern design accents. Bougainvillea-lined pathways lead guests through the resort grounds to 176 expansive, private suites housed in replicas of a tower, colonial buildings and fortress. Within the resort are 5 exceptional restaurants, 5 bars, an elegant casino, a half-mile private beach with sugar-white sand, and meeting space for up to 500 guests, while just minutes away lie all the world-class recreational appeals of Cap Cana.

We stayed in the Castle portion of the resort and Eric was our Butler. He was amazing! He was super helpful and welcoming. He took great care of our family and I highly recommend having him as your butler. Some of the fabulous staff that made our New Years trip so amazing include: Carlos, Capucchino, Coca Cola Light, Fido, Pinky, Sexy Belly, Gasolina, Happy Boy, Elizabeth, Black Diamond, and Juan. If I did not mention their name, it is not because the they weren't amazing. EVERYONE WAS AWESOME. The food was also delicious which I feel like is not always common at an all inclusive resort.. the italian and asian fusion restaurants were my absolute favorites but even the room service was yummy! I have been to multiple all inclusives (2 previously in Punta Cana) and none of them compared to The Sanctuary. The staff puts so much thought and effort into making your experience memorable. I have already recommended the resort to multiple friends of ours. I will be back 100%.

This resort was amazing. The entertainment team was excellent! The rooms are large and the view from our room was breathtaking. This is our second trip here and it was just as good if not better than the first. The drinks were good and the service was great! Can't wait to come back!

I cannot say enough good things about this resort! We stayed for 7 nights and had excellent food, drinks and service throughout the entire trip. We were in a premium luxury ocean suite, with a tub on our back porch overlooking the ocean and it was amazing. Would definitely recommend this room! The resort was not at fully capacity which was actually wonderful -- you had no issues finding a chair at the beach or pool, you didn't have to wait for drinks, the staff was extremely attentive and friendly and it was really refreshing being able to relax quietly or get more involved with the activities/partying. The food is very good for the most part. Some of the meals were inconsistent but overall we always enjoyed it and found something yummy with every meal. The steakhouse was delicious, Blue Marlin has the most epic view, and all of the food in Sanctuary Town was so good if you want something a little more casual. I read other reviews about drinks being weak but I certainly did not experience that issue! Our favorite part of it all was the staff, they are THE BEST-- hands down the best experience I've had at any resort and so much of it is because of the extreme attention, friendliness and welcoming nature of the staff. We loved the entertainment staff - Sexy Belly, Cappuccino, Coca Cola Light, Fido... they were awesome. They made us feel like family by the end of our trip. Also, special shoutout to our favorite bartender JEURI down at the pub in Sanctuary town. We loved him sooo much! Thank you to everyone who made our experience a 10/10. We will recommend this resort to anyone and can't wait to come back.

I stayed at the Sanctuary Hotel in Cap Cana on Jan 2022 for a couples trip and I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking to enjoy an all inclusive resort that provides a great combination of entertainment, food, and leisure. The first thing that I’d like to compliment the hotel and on is the staff. To put it simply - they are incredible. Our butler, Jesus, was very attentive and made sure we were happy at all times. The entertainment staff was incredible. Specifically - Sexy Belly, Fido, Cappuccino, and Coca Cola we’re all really fun and welcoming. For anyone who is not sure if they want to participate in the daily activities they organize you should. They make it fun for everyone regardless of age or where you come from. I’d also should give a big shout out to my good friend Jeuri who runs the Irish bar in sanctuary town. We were to hang out with him several nights playing darts and talking about life which were one of our favorite things to do. The food is very good pretty much any place you’d look to go. The main restaurants (steakhouse, Italian, and Asian fusion) are all very good. The food in sanctuary town is also very good and definitely underrated. Specifically the sushi place - which is new- was extremely good and on par with high end sushi bars. Blue Marlin has amazing views and very good seafood. I’d recommend it for lunch because you can’t beat the view and open air. The Buffett is really good too and gives you a good array of choices no matter what you’re in the mood for. The pools are all really nice and you can get a more fun in the sun experience or a quiet more laid back experience depending on which pool you go to. The pool bar doesn’t make you wait at all for drinks. Everyone at the bars and the server are very attentive and quick to get you a drink. The beach is really nice and there are a good amount of chairs. Is a bit on the smaller side - which would probably be my only negative thing to say about this whole place. That said though, we spent several days at the beach and I loved each day there. When it comes to all inclusive stays you won’t get much better than Sanctuary. The staff is incredible and we left feeling like we were saying goodbye to longtime friends. Thanks again to Jesus, Sexy Belly, Fido, Cappuccino, and Jeuri. They deserve another shoutout.

Sanctuary This was our second trip to the Dominican Republic, but first trip to Sanctuary. This time for a 40th Birthday celebration. If you are looking for a beautiful resort, this is it. Our friends stayed in the castle section, and us in a junior beach front. The castle pool was beautiful, but smaller. It is a great place to take beautiful pictures. We also experienced great service: Ismael, Yeri, Enrique, Elizabeth, Mr Gucci (Eudy). inocensio and Adela at the Love Bar were awesome, they took great care of us every night! Main pool was awesome with Happy Boy, and Keila. Nancy took great care of us and our suite with daily housekeeping. I do miss her! They have a great personal trainer Black Diamond. He is always there to help if needed. We also loved the spa. Definitely recommend it. Hydrotherapy was a little cool for me, but hot tub and steam room was refreshing. The entertainment staff was engaging and energetic, Sexy Belly, Copuchino, Fido, pinky, cola cola,Juan. The food was very good and the options are plenty! We tried all the restaurants, and we were not disappointed! Favorites for us were the Wok, Steakhouse, and Italian. Sanctuary Town was our go to for a late night snack, usually the brick oven pizzas, but also sushi, ice cream, or burger. I do apologize for any misspelling of names.
