The Location is really romantic and amazing. WIth deep Winter in Otepää region and load of snow the Kivitalu Country Hotel is the perfect place. Cosy Villas in different sizes, surrounded by small lakes. The relaxed athmospere is calming and the nature just mindblowing. Its the countryside and a great place to find inner peace and still only 10 minutes away from Otepää. Already the arrival was heartful and warm. Despite all the Corona Situation, Jüri and his wife Kierke are great hosts. The traditional Estonian food is from high quality and the Lamb is an absolut delight. From starters to mains finishing with sweets all was really good. A good chat and loads of Stories from Jüris past are very exciting. The walls filled with pictures of many great stars from the musicworld that Jüri worked with show only a fraction of how much he loves music. Good selection of wines and spirits close the frame of the Hotel and Restaurant. Thank you Jüri for wonderful days full of fun, joy, great food and superb hospitality. We are coming back, for sure. Cant wait to see you all soon.

Lovely Country Hotel in beautiful surroundings and best choice for nature holidays. Private stay in cottages with your own kitchen and sauna, next to the small lake. You have even private bridge for swimming all year around. Amazing hosts and delicious meals too!

Near identical experience to Tarx99 - just not sure why he gave the property 4 stars after that. We have stayed here before a few years back during Leigo music festival. The property has good facilities and is of OK standard, however the staff and service is abysmal. My wife tried arranging dinner for our party of 15+, but due to poor communication it didn't work out so dined at the festival instead. Arranged breakfast here, had to give an exact hour which we were unable to change calling in the morning, instead was greeted by cold food and manspreading chef/proprietor with 'hello late people'. This was the best bit, the female staff is indeed extremely rude and borderline hysterical as per the previous review. As also said before, houses are far apart and not logically numbered - house number 3 is in between 4 other adjacent houses, however house 5 is a drive away. Booked the place via booking.com for our party, but paid £20 extra for half of the people for 'bedding' which was forgotten as 'oh it must have been on email'. Don't mind the extra fees, but get it right (pillows were missing in both houses after 2 reminders, and never materialised). Best to avoid.

The property is great! Nice houses by the lake. The houses are good and look new. Not any bad word about it. We spent one night there with colleagues and we rented two houses - number 2 and 5. Number two is on of the four connected houses, that are in very center of the property and these houses are directly on the waterfront. If you would complain about something, it is the shared terrace. Not much privacy. Our second hous (nr 5) was a little away and it was very private. It was a little higer on a shore bank of the lake. This house has 3 bedrooms on the second floor and one on the first (First and ground level in american termins). Like I said, the property is really great. I liked that. And if I did not need to contact the owners, I would give maximum points to this place! But unfortunatelly I can´t. I booked the houses a few weeks advance. On that time I was not sure, how many people will come. One day before arrival I sent the e-mail, where I gave them exact list of people and rooms. As the the extra beds were possible according to their webpage, I saw no problems. Next day, when we arrived, I called to the front desk and asked about the bedclothes for the extrabeds, and I got very rude attitude from this lady. She said, that these persons already left, who take care of the bedclothes and she can do nothing. I offered, that it is not a problem, I can walk to the office and take these bedclothes myself. Then she got a little mad and started yelling, that I was supposed to order it while booking... As she got too hysteric and blamed me, I left this subject and some of us slept under the towels :) The other topic was about the childrens playground by the house. One reason, why I booked this hous (nr 5), was the childrens playground, that was listed on the webpage too. When I saw it in real, I asked them, I they would have some worker, who could cut off the hay from the sandbox! And again the answer was not very polite. They said, that I did not order the playground (there was not a word about ordering it) and they did not know to prepare it. They suggested, taht I should find a wicker (from where?) and take care of the sandbox myself... You can see this sandbox on my pictures too. I did not fall to the same level and tried to explain, that I found some problems with their servise and let them know about it and for me it would have been solved, if they just would have said sorry and thanked me for letting them know about the problems and I would have forgotten it! I believe the owner Jüri is a great man and I know, he is a good businessman too, and If I had not had these "problems" I would give them maximum points! I hope they had just a bad day and my experience was just a the exception. It is a great place to spend some time with friends, family or coworkers!

The pond, the horses, even the dog are ineffably charming, and the accommodation at Kivi Talu felt like luxury comfort with its massive shower and wood paneling. The owner was most genial. I'd very much like to stay there again after the new kitchen is finished.

We stayed there with 2 families, both with 2 small kids. Luckily we were upgraded to the biggest house (house nr 1) and it made the stay even better, altought I think even in smaller house we would have been positively minded. The nature was like a winter wonderland, snow everywhere, thick ice on the lake to skate on etc. From sauna we ran straight to snow, other time of the year you can jump to lake. House is well furniced and equipped with all the items needed in kitchen, even the wine and shot glasses were there - not seen that in most places. Owner has a small farm there, horses, sheep, goats, chicken - children were invited to see them.

They have bathrobes and lamb carpets and everything you need to have a PERFECT vacation. If you want to party, i do not recommend this place, because you will ruin other peoples relaxation ;)!
