Detailed Reviews
My Husband and I had Dinner here last week while travelling to Belcoo. The Restaurant was spotless, well spaced out tables and considering all Covid restrictions - we felt perfectly safe. Food was so tasty and hot and service was reasonably fast by two young Waitresses. Prices were extremely reasonable. We look forward to returning. I highly recommend a visit to this Restaurant.

We stayed overnight at Clancy’s in July 2022. We arrived early to a warm greeting from the hosts and enjoyed lunch while our rooms were getting finished. The rooms are lovely, comfortable and very clean with everything you could need. Breakfast was amazing …. The warm soda bread was simply the best. The hosts took an interest in our trip and offered kind words after Motherwell FC were defeated by Sligo Rovers :-)
Clancy’s has good and easily accessible parking on the main road and is well signposted. We took a short walk to a nearby loch before breakfast. It’s such a beautiful area with many places close by.
Thank you Clancy’s … we enjoyed our trip and will return soon.

I have rarely experienced such a warm welcome and friendly hosts. Assumpta and Jim, owners of Clancys of Glenfarne, could not have made our last minute stay more enjoyable. A lift was organised to nearby Belcoo for our restaurant booking and we were collected at the door and brought to the local pub called McHughs in Glenfarne where we met all the locals. Both rooms were spotless and bright and breakfast was just delicious. Following breakfast we visited The Cavan Burren Park which was amazing and more enhanced by the knowledge and kindness of a local gentleman whom we met the night before in McHughs. I will definitely be back. "One of the Kildare girls"

Clancy’s is a very welcoming and comfortable place to stay. The breakfast is really excellent and everyone there was really friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. I’d recommend it as a great place to stay in the area, and it’s worth popping across the road the McHugh’s for a pint and a warm welcome while you’re there!

10 members of a motorcycle club visited Clancy's for one night. Clancy's is listed as a 2 star Hotel in the guidebook. Our room was homely compared to other more modern hotels but very comfortable. It had tea and coffee together with a lovely modern bathroom. Loads of hot water for the shower, no bath. We had dinner in the downstairs restaurant, which was excellent. The hotel doesn't have an alcohol licence, but there is a pub across the road. I walked over and brought a pint of Guiness back with me. Some of the others bought wine on the way. I think the restaurant charges a corkage fee of €5. The pint was €5. The hotel is in an isolated place on a busy main road, but there was no problem with traffic noise. After dinner we went over to the pub which is very traditional with Irish music in one of the bars. We had a great night interacting with local residents. Breakfast was as good as the dinner. Jim, the owner, couldn't do enough for us. He has a BMW RT himself. There are two big sheds/garages which stored all of our bikes. Overall a great night.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment for 2 nights - we chose this over standard B&B as we had a 4 year old and the extra living space was a much better option for us.
The apartment was clean and well kitted out. We had a warm welcome and the staff at all times were very friendly.
We had breakfast included in the next door restaurant and the food and coffee was really good.
Highly recommend a stay here!

Clancy's B&B, the hidden gem in the Hidden Heartlands of Ireland that is North Leitrim. Great Hospitality, including comfortable room and breakfast cooked to perfection. Dog friendly and he was made welcome too and loved by staff and guests alike. Clancy's B&B has the advantage of its location, some of the best scenery in Ireland will surround you here. It will be my regular "Retreat".

Visited for light lunch and had an excellent meal. Very generous portions, well cooked and really Ella presented. Staff were excellent and obviously hard working trying to please all customers! Extensive menu with excellent specials on offer. Food is very competitively priced and well worth the prices. Great place to visit while travelling.

We tried hard with this hotel. They’re renovating and should have just said that or closed during our renovations. Our first clue should have been when we were shown to our room and were told they were renovating and we didn’t have towel bars. That was the least of the issues. No towel bars, bathroom mirror resting on the sink, internet was marginal when it worked, heater didn’t work, no hot water exposed wires on wall in the bathroom, toilet paper was behind you on the toilet. The rooms are nice enough and we had a good recommendation for dinner, but hot water and working internet are a must.

Response from Jim Clancy, Owner at Clancys of Glenfarne
Responded 19 Jul 2023
Apologies for the inconvenience, but unfortunately there is no good time for renovating - especially when it involves replacing ensuites. We are not in a position where we can close the premises, and we tried to get it done as efficiently as possible. While there were wires protruding, they were well insulated and were not live. Again I apologise for the disruption.

Really enjoyed our overnight stay in Clancy's We were down in that area attending a party and the host had reserved rooms for us all. Clancy's had all the amenities that you would expect in a hotel not a bed and breakfast. Very clean and tidy and staff really lovely and friendly. The breakfast was amazing a visit for it is a must. We will be down in that area again soon and i wont be looking for a hotel it will be Clancy's.
