Hotel was average 4 star décor a bit dated but very clean and well kept. Bedrooms were spacious and clean with a great view of the river and Mt. Errigal in the distance. Staff were all friendly and helpful. The mattress on the bed was very soft and saggy, I am used to a firm mattress so as a result did not sleep well. Bathroom was good, clean and with a lovely shower albeit over the bath (a walk in shower in my opinion is much more user friendly in this modern day) Breakfast is open for 7.30am but on both mornings had to wait while they got organized with the hot food so nearer to 8am before you actually got your food. It is the usual buffet help your self style and food was average. The main reason for the 2 star rating was Fara Óg's restaurant. It was our only choice the other option (The Duck???) was not open. We were on a package deal that included dinner and breakfast. The menu was very limited with a lot of burger options. The wife and I had "the catch of the day" which was salmon on a bed of tagliatelle...... The salmon was a small square piece that was well overcooked and rather hard as for the tagliatelle...... Luckily we were not paying for this as it was €19.95 a head!!! The following night I had a burger and the wife had a platter of Chicken wings, spare ribs, Goujons, Sliders etc which was more than generous (enough for 2 people to share). The food was a slight improvement on the first night but certainly not worth the prices on the menu. A small glass of white wine and a pint for yours truly came to €11.50. This is runaway inflation!!! (in my opinion of course.)

We visited here for the first time in March and loved it that much we went back again a few weeks later! The room was so big and spacious and we couldn’t get over the size and comfort of the super king bed! I don’t sleep that well the best of times but I had the best nights sleep both times we stayed. The staff couldn’t of been friendlier, the hot tub was a big hit for us in the spa, huge spread for breakfast and we couldn’t fault the food and drink in the restaurant. Great selection of cocktails. 👌

Have stayed in an chuirt over the years with no issues, but this time it was a different story. Being the mother of 2 ASD boys I asked could I get some mash and gravy for my youngest from faraogs, was told that wasn’t possible as they didn’t do potato’s or gravy. How does a Hotel not have Mash and gravy!!! Had to drive to get mash to be heated in kitchen and to make gravy in our room! On the Sunday they lost our mash in the kitchen! Reception were aware of our issues on the Friday but only came to higher managements attention on the Sunday, we checked out monday. As for fara ogs the menu is very disappointing very few vegetarian options and few fish dishes - no seafood platters which you would expect in Donegal. No side dishes of vegetables only chips and expensive for what you are getting… Very disappointed in the overall stay at the Hotel Definitely not Asd friendly especially when we had to drive to get our own dinner! Management need to have a look from the customers point of view. We came away for a rest but was more hassle than it was worth.

We stayed at the hotel as we were attending a wedding. The wedding was fabulous! The food was the best I have ever had at a wedding. Everything was cooked to perfection! The breakfast was amazing, plenty of everything. Fresh cooked items always being brought to the buffet. Eggs cooked how you liked them. The hotel was spotless. Huge rooms. The waiting staff were 1st class. The hotel restaurant was great too. Location a bit remote if you don’t have your own transport. The area is stunning.
