Mount Brandon is one of the southeast’s most attractive self-catering properties. These two cottages are located just outside of Graiguenamanagh only 5 minutes’ walk from the river Barrow - a haven for game and coarse anglers alike. They are 4-star Failte Ireland approved and offer all mod cons.

I am very unhappy and so angry with this place as they left two family's on the side of the road at 7.30 in evening with no place to stay because she said it was a health and safety risk to let 4 adults and 6 kids one being a baby which we brought our own cot for to stay in a 4 bedroom house with a pull out bed, even tho we had booked the house. We were down for my aunt's funeral so I really didn't need the stress and worrie of what happened.i wouldn't even give this place one star as she was quiet happy to take one family and leave the other to fend for themselves which in my eyes is shocking.

Dear Noreen, thank you for your review. Seen that this is a public forum, I would like to give the readers the other side to this story. When Derek booked the house, he told me the booking was for four adults and I was more than happy to accept this booking. Please note that the house is a three bedroom property (2 doubles and one single) and not a four bedroom house as stated in your review. Derek knew the house from a previous stay with some work colleagues, for whom I had sourced two fold-up bed, so that each of the men would have their own bed, 5 in total. I actually took Derek on a tour of the house the night of your arrival, as I wanted to show him that I had in fact prepared the house for the 4 adults that were booked - the fold-out beds were no longer on the property. As explained the evening of your arrival, I was not going to have 10 people stay in a house that is in fact laid out for 5, a fact you surely must appreciate. If Derek had told me there were 10 guests arriving, I would have told him while booking that I would not be able to accommodate him/you. By the way: we do supply a child's travel cot in our properties. And you are correct, I, too was shocked when I saw the amount of people. I did of course stand with my original offer to accommodate 4 people and even 5 adults, a child and a baby would be acceptable, but 10 people in total just will not fit. With best regards Andrea

Visited recently with children for a pottery class. Beautiful place. Great little studio and lovely people. The cottages are fantastic being clean, bright and comfortable. Only a short drive or walk to Graignamanagh and the River Barrow. When there meet Potter and Artist Carmen

We took a couple of days 'in the country' and found the perfect location. Rural, rustic and restful - Mt Brandon Cottages was the ideal place for a quiet break. The cottages are beautifully fitted out - warm, welcoming and cosy - hostess Andrea has a laudable environmental policy which makes for an even more rewarding experience - and Carmen in the Pottery School duly obliged with a few 'one on one' sessions with 'her good self'. Graiguenamanagh is a little bit of heaven nestled in the valley where the Barrow and The Black Water meet - but shhh don't tell anyone - We want it for ourselves cos we'll be back soon. This is the fourth year in a row that we have stayed at Mount Brandon Cottages and we have probably stayed there 4 or 5 times before. We absolutely love the cottages and our little dog Maddie is even madder about the place then us, which is saying something. Andrea is the most helpful host you could possibly ask for and she has now become a family friend. The cottages are homely and comfortable, with everything you need. They are set in child and dog friendly gardens, with space enough for scooters and bikes to ride and space for badminton and other games to be played. The covered barbecue area means that you can have a barbecue even when on the odd :-) occasion there is a rainy day . Graiguenamangh is a traditional Irish village/small town with everything that you need

We chose Graiguenanamagh for its proximity to Kilkenny and other cities like Waterford and Wexford, and we were pleasantly surprised by how wonderful the area is and how much it had to offer. Travelling from Scotland with our five year old son, we spent a happy and relaxing week in Cottage No.1. The cottage itself was very comfortable and well appointed, with everything we needed to cook in a fair number of dinners, and relax sitting inside or outside in the evenings. The grounds and gardens are beautifully kept with an abundance of flowers and mature trees, and plenty of room for our son to run around with the owner Andrea's very friendly dog, Twig. The views from the cottage's back door sweeping down to the valley and the village were a marvellous morning treat. The cottages
