I booked a two night stay at the Newport Arms Hotel for March 2015 and it was awful. We paid £50 per night and there was no mention about there not being a breakfast until late evening when the landlady mentioned that there was no breakfast. The Landlord said they worked hard enough in the day and evening without doing...

I've stayed here on multiple occasions since the Swan having changed hands in November 2012. Nice, cosy and very clean rooms with plenty of tea and coffee making facilities. The staff are very helpful, polite and welcoming. And the food! Well - it's worth staying at the Swan just for the breakfast! I've yet to try the Sunday roasts -...

Went to the Newport Arms for a weekend away, as our son was away with cubs, so decided to treat ourselves! Room was a nice size, spotless and clean, bathroom was lovely, clean and a bath/shower as well, breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day, handy for getting out and about and decided to visit Shrewsbury which...

We have just returned from a Convention in Telford. We were made most welcome by the staff and nothing was too much trouble for any of them. The room was spotless and all the added facilities of tea/coffee making facilities were included. The breakfasts were enormous with lots of choices.A thoroughly good experience. Thank you for making us feel as if...

Good value and friendly service. The rooms are of a reasonable size and the bathrooms are good; the shower was very good. However, the bedroom door opened straight onto a public thoroughfare where the smokers from the pub congregated. The traffic noise was also significant as you are level with the road. The breakfast was good and the service was...

We spent one night here as we were attending a family party close by. Although the facilities are basic, it is very clean and the staff/owner were very welcoming despite having only just taken over the premises and being unsure whether our booking was confirmed (no details left by previous owner). The cooked breakfast was great and just what we...

We stayed here as we were in the area for a night out and was cheaper to stop over instead of getting a taxi back. Arriving just after 6, we were greated by a lovely lady, who checked us in and showed us to our room, which was outside, at first we thought..where are we going? But she unlocked our...

When we arrived and walked into the bar/reception area it seemed to be a bit old and dusty. Taking a closer look we realised it was a genuine old tavern style inn retaining many of the features that attract the tourist looking for an authentic English experience. Our room had a very comfortable bed, really good shower with ample hot...

I booked a single room here as part of a holiday travelling around Shropshire, they took my Credit Card number when I booked (fair enough). I had said both on the phone and in e-mail when booking that I would be turning up in the early afternoon. I arrived in Newport circa 12:30 and went to Newport Arms. However, i...
