As a regular traveller to Northumberland for over a decade I was so disappointed with this accommodation. My husband had difficulty with glitches in the booking which should have been a warning of things to come. On arrival they required payment and we were nearly overcharged as we had already paid a deposit. Mind you the barman was trying to...

We were a party of four with one dog. We were made welcome and had to sit in an area of the bar with no carpet. This was fine for us. The service was ok and the food was lovely. The only downside was some other visitors, lots of children, shouting, noise and messing about. The dartboard was near us...

Called in for lunch and wasn't disappointed. Greeted by a very friendly host who served us drinks and found us a table. Ordering is easy order at the bar and pay. Food was exceptionally well presented, piping hot and delicious, rather large portions on both starters and mains but truly amazing. Would recommend this pub to anyone and if I'm...

Myself and my boyfriend were attending a wedding at Eshott Hall over Easter. At first we were just going to drive home until we decided to make a weekend of it. As it was Easter and very last minute everywhere was full! The Village Inn was the only b&b nearby that we could get booked up in. At first I...

Stopped off here for some lunch travelling to Durham. This was a real gem of a place - staff were so friendly and helpful, with nothing being too much trouble. Food and drink were fantastic as well as being reasonably priced. All round nice atmosphere. Definitely coming back.

We enjoyed a lovely evening, with great food (Apple crumble was awesome!), we had excellent service from the lovely young waitress who attended to us. The room was lovely and comfortable. There was noise from the bar which we expected but it was fine and we thought the ear plug machine was a great idea! We slept very well. The...

After booking online for 2 rooms with a double bed and a sofa bed (This was also on the order confirmation) we arrived at the hotel to be told that the only rooms available had a double bed only!... This was no good for 4 work guys working away. After leaving to find another hotel they decide to charge my...

We have just returned from 2 nights b&b. Our room was small but comfortable and we really enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was fabulous, as was the dinner we enjoyed both nights. The food was excellent. The local beers and hospitality couldn't be faulted. If it was a bit warmer I'd rate it a 5, but I do feel the...

This is a good basic place to stay - no frills and ok except for the shower - we couldn't get it to run warm and gave up trying to have one. However the breakfast was really good only marred by having to make your own instant coffee.
