We stayed here in July 2016, traveling with friends. We had one of two guesthouses. The one we had has a bedroom with two single beds, and a large queen/king sofa bed in the main room. The building had the bedroom, a bathroom (shower only), and a large room with the sofa-bed and the kitchen. The proprietor (Leslie (I hope...

Lesley the owner is such a welcoming host, and nothing is too much trouble for her, goes above and beyond to ensure your stay is perfect in every way. Highly recommended. The rooms are so cosy and the beds are the best i have ever stayed in. fresh locally sourced produce for breakfast too.

My partner and I stayed here over two years ago and when we decided to walk the wall again with other friends of ours, we knew we had to stay at the beautiful secret Hadrian's Barn. Our friends were as impressed as we were the first time. The location is a tranquil, idilic setting and only a 5 minute walk...

Hadrians barn was very spacious well equipped and nicely decorated. There was plenty of Breakfast provided in the fridge and also some chilled beers which were gratefully accepted after our journey from Manchester. There is a small cottage garden which we used to enjoy the glorious weather. The owners were lovely, friendly and made us feel very welcome. I would...

Being an avid explorer of historically/culturally significant sites I'm not really bothered much with the diggs I'm staying and am more interested in the place I'm going. As such, we're usually looking for a bargain which is difficult along the wall. Given that all the other accommodation we looked at was near enough the same price or more expensive we...

We could not have had better hospitality or better accommodation. Lesley was so kind and generous and even left us a box of chocolate goodies, as well as top notch produce to cook our own breakfast when we liked and how we liked. We loved the fact that it was all supplied but we could please ourselves how and when...

Quiet location, slightly difficult to find (resolved by a phone call to owners). Fold out double bed in main room with eating and cooking area and access to bathroom; twin beds in second bedroom. Well stocked fridge for 'cook your own breakfast'. Good place for starting cycling trip (to Cumbria and back). Good food and beer available in village pub...

and had to leave the door open. Given a key that would not work. Place was not very clean. Promised a double bed, given not very good twins. Had to cook our own breakfast. Frankly, I was paying to be served. Over all, not very pleasant experience.

We booked our accommodation at Hadrian's Barn over six months in advance of our September stay. We booked two double rooms for two couples plus one dog. Our booking confirmation showed the detail "two bedrooms". On arrival, we were told that we were accommodated in one of the two "cottages" in the grounds because of dog allergy issues for other...

We got our own, very spacious cottage to stay in, and a fridge filled with breakfast food. The owner was very friendly - explaining to us how to find the place, and giving us helpful tips for dinner. Overall, a very pleasant stay.
