Called in due to another pub full and what a fantastic place. It was rather busy which shows how popular it is. Quickly shown a table and drinks/meals ordered. The staff were very friendly and helpful and their service was really good. The food was typical pub grub but was well cooked and well presented. Prices were reasonable and the... More

As someone who seems to find it easier to write a critical review than a complimentary one I now find myself in the unusual position of taking the time to sing the praises of the Plough Inn. Without going into unnecessary detail our visit was a joy. Food was of a very high standard - service excellent by the two... More

We had an evening meal here as we were staying at a nearby caravan park, it was midweek so the place was quiet, and we arrived at 7.45 pm we were told we were just in time. The staff were very friendly and helpful and their service was really good. The food was typical pub grub but was well cooked... More

We very much enjoyed our evening of October 8th 2016. The food was excellent, the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating and there was a lovely relaxed atmosphere. We found the building very impressive and the art gallery was a real bonus.

Visited with my husband on Tuesday 4th October for steak night whilst staying in the area, we had the rib eye steaks and they were amazing I can honestly say they were 2 of the best steaks we have had, and the portion sizes were very really generous. It was very busy understandably with the quality of food they are... More

Came here on Sunday 9th October this year with my husband and 6 month old son. The food was amazing so fresh it is indescribable and the service was second to none. Very accommodating and hospitable. Will definitely be coming back here again.

Our first visit for years, and found it much improved and very busy. Pleasant staff, prompt service and nice pub food at a reasonable price. We noticed that, when a table became free, it was properly washed and reset before new customers were shown there. Just as it should, but often sadly, isn'nt.Now on our list of local places for... Hubby and I were down staying in Cresswell and went for our lunch on Tuesday. The food was excellent and the staff were so friendly. The chef is fantastic. Hubby had the special which was pork medallions and I had the gammon steak and they were both mouth wateringly good, compliments to the chef. Our waitress Cordelia was just learning... More

Went here for a meal on Saturday night, they managed to squeeze us in even though they were busy. We had just a starter and mains as the portions are generous. The food is quite simply good food cooked very well.I also had a pint of very well kept black sheep ale,the best pint I've had for some time. If we... More

A short stay in the area, visited The Plough twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. Good value steaks and a comprehensive specials board. A very well kept Black Sheep ale. Staff efficient and friendly, prepared to modify and alter their menu to suit the customers' needs. All in all, a very well run establishment. Highly recommended.
