Stayed two nights for our anniversary. Very friendly landlady Cathy has, lived in the village forever so extremely knowledgable about the area. Very clean and comfortable room. Tasty breakfast and quite a variety. Only downside the walls are thin and we could here next doors chatter, but it didn't cause a problem

We decided to book into a local b&b as we have recently purchased a property in Newbiggin by the Sea. So pleased that we booked the Captains Lodge. We arrived at approx 8.30pm after a 2 and a half hour drive. We were met by Cathy, the landlady who was friendly and very welcoming. (I cannot believe the previous review...

Cathy the landlady was really friendly and went out of her way to make our 3 night stay as comfortable as possible. The bed was really really comfortable and the room had a hairdryer and tea, coffee and biscuits included.. The full English breakfast was delicious and there are a number of pubs and a good Indian restaurant nearby, Cathy...

We are a same-sex couple and are often wary of trying new places. There was no need to worry! We were booked on an otter safari and found this B&B thanks to other reviews. We received a lovely warm welcome. Cathy is very knowledgeable about the area and recommended some great eateries - The Cook and Barker is charming with...

A great guest house to stay if you are looking for accommodation in the area Cathy is a perfect host. The rooms are well presented and we had the green room with the four poster bed, the view is lovely. The breakfast is great I just wish I could have eaten more.
