Fantastic service and accommodations. Everything is top notch and guests are taken care of very well. Spent tho nights at the facility but wish we could have spent more. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The food was first class and the ground around the hotel are very well kept.

we were a group of 8 (plus guide) staying for 2 nights. Carl, his wife and children made us all feel very welcome. The restaurant, bar and lounge are in the main 'house' with our accommodation a short walk thru the gardens. There is accommodation in the house also. Our rooms were large, the beds being in an alcove with...

We stayed for 3 nights in October. The room was light and airy with everything you might need for a stay. The property is a restored colonial property and is set in lovely gardens. The property has its own park which is well worth a visit and our Antonio was knowledgable and spotted chameleon and gecko that we could have...

Additional costs are normal when you book Room and Breakfast Hello Ruth, I expected some like this especially after i did not reduced my prices as demanded in several of your mails. Domaine de Fontenay is not a cheap option; a stay here is based on European prices. That said, the quality of the service and the setting is very good value for money and even by western European standards it could not be faulted. My brother and I stayed here for three nights in October as a base to explore Montagne...

I traveled Madagascar 2006 for 1 month, just returned in 2015 for one month. This time, I joined my father for travel in amazing North of the country. Joffreville and Domaine de Fontenay was the place we began our journey, what a place to start! The owner Karl Heinz has taken this old historic mansion and restored it to it's...

Our recent stay at Domaine de Fonteney was the highlight of our 3 week Madagascar adventure. Our hosts, Karl-Heinz and Karinah took great care to make sure we were comfortable, well fed, and able to explore the surrounding areas of Madagascar. The rooms were exceptionally clean and spacious and the grounds of Domaine are beautiful and peaceful. Karl-Heinz's nature reserve...

A wonderful place to stay in a wonderful spot. Karl and his wife were so kind to us, the grounds are beautiful, the rooms spacious and comfortable, the food was first class, and it was ideally situated near Amber Mountain, where we took both day and night hikes, seeing wonderful natural sights. They have an amazingly old tortoise right on...

Good location close to the Amber Mountain park; nicely refurbished French colonial mansion; very friendly and hospital family runs the place very efficiently; rooms are very spacious and in good condition. The food (breakfast and a set dinner meal are included) was great. We would have loved to stay longer.
