We have just discovered blacksmiths arms and are very lucky to have on our doorstep. Faultless Sunday lunch. The best bits for me beautifully cooked 'pink' roast beef, fluffy Yorkshire puds and crispy roast potatoes to die for. Very friendly staff and lovely landlady who all looked after us well. The open fire was a bonus too. Booked again for...

We found this 'by accident' whilst on a treasure hunt. It looks quite small, but that belies is size and quality. We had an early evening meal of pie of the day (Ham and Chicken) and a sirloin steak sandwich, both of which were fresh, hot, well served and presented. Staff were friendly and helpful and an overall experience to...

Tea and coffee making facilities and TV provided along with a hair dryer. Friendly bar with good range of drinks, we had an evening meal which was homemade good pub grub. Breakfast...

We have just has a lovely lunch! A beautiful homemade burger with massive onion rings, and a melt in the mouth herb crusted salmon. It was freshly prepared and beautifully presented. The warm welcome and chatter in the bar all added to the charm of this little gem, and just a stones throw from York too!

We were only going for a meal for Sunday lunch and did I not overnight. The pub itself is very pleasant traditional English pub and the young lady behind the bar tried very hard to please. We soon discovered they do not do Sunday lunch. Having studied the menu we opted for pie and chips. Expensive steaks seemed wrong for...

We stayed here recently as we had a wedding in a venue nearby. The owner of this great little B&B couldn't be more helpful, even offering to iron out shirts and give us a lift to the wedding venue. The rooms were spotless and all a great size. Would highly recommend staying here - very peaceful location and a really...

Both myself and my partner have just arrived home from staying at the blacksmiths arms. Lovely pub. We decided to stay in blacksmiths as we were going to York races. The B&B were reasonably priced and not too far from the racecourse. It is around £25 in a taxi to the racecourse. It is a lovely pub and the food...

Our B&B host recommended The Blacksmith's Arms as being a good place to eat but I must say we were disappointed. Everything seemed surprisingly over-priced for what was in effect pub-grub - although the food was nice enough and the staff were friendly and welcoming. It's a nice building and has a good country pub atmosphere but the soft furnishings...
