We booked this hotel at short notice - Luke took our booking and was very helpful and informative. The hotel was very clean and comfortable with a lovely relaxing lounge area, which, for a change, was large enough to accommodate everyone. The choices on the menu and the preparation of the food were excellent. The breakfast was cooked to perfection....

playing on the radio, as we arrived, set the scene for our one night DBandB stay. A great room, spotless and perfect heating. Our host not only provided a great welcome, but could repair a bath plug within 5mins. A perfect woman. We loved the 3 course dinner and the breakfast. Would return again. Our standard room was perfect, but...

This hotel is a gem! I booked in for one night in July and stayed a week. The staff are wonderful. They are friendly and helpful. The decor of public rooms is excellent, the hotel has been refurbished to a high standard and reflects the country house ambience. Food is served in the panelled dining room, a good choice of menu...

Gorgeous house need sat nav to find and that's the only negative about this place, it is so welcoming that after dinner we both took our shoes off and relaxed totally on beautiful settees with open fires. The bedroom was really big with a very comfy mattress and lovely soft duvet and a large sofa at the foot of the...

We recently stayed at the Burythorpe Hotel for an anniversary weekend and it was absolutely wonderful. The room was fantastic (we upgraded to a luxury room), really spacious and the bathroom was beautiful with a great bath and separate shower. We dined in the restaurant and enjoyed mushrooms & chestnuts, crab risotto, pork belly, beef rump steak and a delicious...

My partner and I visited for a birthday treat .The room was a superior room and was immaculate and it is for this reason I give this hotel any stars at all!To be fair the decor throughout (perhaps with the exception of a bleak dining room) is to a very high standard and obviously fairly newly renovated.Initially this hotel ticked...

I am thrilled to say I have been lucky enough to stay at this beautiful establishment, my experience with the staff from start to end was exemplary. The lady taking the reservation was nothing but helpful and remembered us on arrival welcoming us with open arms. The hotel was full but by no means did you feel like anything was...

We love this place. We have been 6 times and booked our 7th visit and can't wait. ! This is so close to malton and Castle Howard. Burythorpe is partially owned by Eric Clapton who is my fiancé idol. The rooms are all different and the food is amazing and always presented to a high standard.

Sadly stayed only one night. Beautiful hotel, superbly appointed, in a picturesque and peaceful setting. Room was luxurious and spacious, bathroom spotless and supplied with opulent complimentary toiletries. Dinner and breakfast very good indeed, including a perfect grilled kipper. Friendly and helpful service, would definitely go back. Recommended.

A delightful country house hotel with roaring log fires, beautifully appointed rooms and superb food. The staff are delightful - especially Sarah and Monika. The heated indoor pool is an added attraction.
