There were 4 of us for Saturday evening. The staff were really friendly and the atmosphere nicely relaxed. We only managed 2 courses. I had kedgeree and then chicken both of which were delicious. The others had equally satisfying dishes and the evening was a great success.

Situated in a quiet village, the Brownlow Arms is a good place to stay just not far from the A1. Excellent restaurant which is always very busy in the evenings. Rooms are well furnished with en-suite.

we booked a meal here last minutes, but the very helpful staff managed to find us a table, we are so glad she did! The Menu choice was incredible, and we felt spoil for choice. I settled on Wild Salmon, which was beautiful, and my husband had the fillet steak, which he said was equally good. The restaurant atmosphere was...

A tasty lunch, hot and delicious. Effusive waitress who was very friendly. Pub has nice ambience, and was as busy as ever. We did not find it to be pretensious, although it is slightly expensive, i would say a upmarket pub, with a good reputation.

Excellent country pub. Can't beat the food and hospitality. Lorraine is a consummate hosts and clearly has high standards in both food, decor and service. Just a brilliant place to. One back to after being abroad for months!

This bar / pub / restaurant looks stunning. I went in, with my wife, to the bar. Beautiful decor and, seemingly, a lovely atmosphere. That's where it went wrong. I politely asked the barman for a pint of Leffe. I was informed that it doesn't come in pints. The barman then proceeded to pour it in a "correct" glass (half-pint...

Came here with my husbands family for a birthday meal. I had the chicken tagliatelle with pesto and goats cheese, followed by the raspberry sorbet and lemon panna cotta. The food was incredible, the service was brilliant and the decor was very modern and comfortable. Hats off to the chef, you can definitely see why it has a 5* rating...

Stayed just the one night, but will make a bee-line for here whenever I'm close. Friendly, professional staff. Comfortable room (bed and pillows superb). Wi-fi a bit dodgy, but hey-ho! The stand-out was the restaurant. Simply exceptional. Michelin quality dining at a fraction of the price. Excellent wine list as well.

We stayed here for one night last month and it is fabulous . The decor is great cosy but smart , the bedroom was large and bespoke . Our ferry was delayed so we didn't get to dine in the restaurant but the staff served us a lovely picnic plate and a wonderful bottle of wine in the bar area...

We have just returned home from a two night stay at this wonderful hotel. From the moment we walked inside we were made to feel extremely welcome. We stayed in room one which was very spacious, immaculately clean and well furnished. The food both at dinner and breakfast was very tasty. What made this break extra special was how nice...
