Wonderfull place with wonderfull people. Guamote is not a big place, but thuis guesthouse is extremely good. IT had also a very good project for the local people. The project is for local kids from 3 till 6 years.

Guamote is known for its market. We stayed at the hostel for 2 nights - one day before the market and one day after. It was a great place to stay, with large rooms, large beds and very clean. The food was very good and with extremely large portions. There are several places to make yourself comfortable in the hostel...

The hotel is very nice decorated with art, and there are spacious public places to sit and chat while the fireplace glows. The rooms are very clean with a good bed and excellent shower. They also offer a very good diner and breakfast.

We expected a very basic hostel and were absolutely astonished about the very charming and cultural hotel. Very good local kitchen, proper rooms, nice bathrooms and a lot of local arts. The whole building is very clean. The hotel is run by an Belgium Ecuador team and they are running a local education and develop project. Therefore the hotel helps...

Hats off to the owners and the couple managing the place, it is very well run in every aspects: comfortable public spaces and rooms, clean and well equipped, good wifi, lovely food, adorable staff from local community, we really had a memorable time there. Ideal location for...

The hotel itself is very nice, very well designed, especially the common areas that are very cozy. The rooms are simple, yet very nice and comfortable. The breakfast could be more "rich", but dinners were really nice. BUT what is especially food here is to make the trip to see the Animal market and then visit local schools in the...

Going to stay at Inti Sisa in Guamote is more than simply going to a hotel or B&B; it means toucing upon the world of Ecuadorian highlands indigenous people in a responsible manner. At the same time, the hotel offers high quality bedrooms and excellent meals.

I stayed the night before the Guamote Thursday market and the place was crowded with visitors from all over the world -- an interesting and friendly bunch of people. Was traveling alone but able to chat at meal times with various groups - most people ate there since few restaurants in the area. The Thursday market was fascinating and lasted...

Maybe not a very well known town. But it defintely is worth a 1/2 night stop. Picturesque town. Hotel is financing a local project that supports education, food, family support in the area. Very well constructed hotel, nice rooms, great decoration and ultra friendly staff. We arrived in the evening, but the table was set, we were welcome to eat...

This hotel is brand-new. Designed and built to good European standard. Public spaces are beautifully decorated with pictures of locals, handicraft inspired by and or made by the local community. Inti Sisa supports the local community in several ways and also makes use of volunteers from abroad. Clean and spacious rooms with impeccable bathrooms. Friendly staff. Cosy fireplaces. Free Wi-fi...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to our Inti Sisa Guesthouse, your home away from home located in the small village of Guamote in the center of the Ecuadorian Andes. It's location, halfway between Cuenca and Quito makes it an ideal place to stop and visit. And not only to rest one's head, but also to experience authentic Andean life by visiting the weekly Thursday market, riding the famous train, visiting surrounding communities and the Chimborazo volcano. But Inti Sisa is more, as the Inti Sisa Guesthouse finances all activities of the Inti Sisa foundation. This foundation, which opened the doors of its educational center in 1999, has the vision to offer educational support to the underprivileged of Guamote and its surrounding, especially young girls and women. This by proving workshops, such as computer classes, sewing courses, pre-school and English classes in its educational center in Guamote and in the surrounding communities. ... more   less
