Been to Cascina del Vai in July 2018 for a weeding. Location 9+, beautiful place indeed. Food was average for Trattoria in lower Piemonte. Nothing wow nothing bad. What went wrong? Getting insulted by the people running the place, constantly and for no reason. Without going into boring details, I've rarely met anyone more rude than the owners of this place. Keep it in mind if you rare planning to arrange an event there.

We stayed here with the family which included 2 children of 4 and 12 years of age. The rooms were more like hotel rooms than I'd expected with comfortable beds,a spacious en-suite bathroom & a fantastic, daily cleaning service. We had a lovely view over the outside bar & surrounding hills & Elena and her team were always friendly and helpful. Loved the big breakfasts as well & we felt so relaxed we stayed on-site and ended-up eating lunch and dinner here too, which feature delicious home-made pastas & mainly meat dishes (but plenty of side dishes of salad & veggies). Lots of locals come up to eat here on the weekends which has to be a good sign. The real draw though, is the pool which is big enough to accomodate lengths and impromptu games of volleyball! It's set among the lush vegetation and is really stunning. The only drawback-and nobody's fault -were the bees & wasps buzzing about -but there were large swathes of the day when they all mysteriously disappeared. This Agriturismo felt like a real find and is perfect for a relaxing few days or a base from which to explore nearby Genova.

A family run country farmstead 3 miles from Cairo Montenotte centre, the last mile up hill. We had a wonderful week staying at this property and particularly enjoyed the home cooking at lunch and dinner. The swimming pool/surrounding area is a little sun trap and clean and tidy. The rooms are cleaned and fresh towels supplied daily. The property is within an hour of Genoa and the beach for days out. You can take the toll road or winding roads through the hills which is more fun and provides better views. There are drinks and buffet every second Thursday where you can practice your Italian with the local community. If you wish to attend Sunday mass you can go to 11am in Cairo Montenotte Centre or 5pm at the Church of Teresa Brocca, a short trip into the hills If you turn right at the bottom of the hill from the premises. Watch for deer in the field early morning and late at night. A special thank you to Elena and family for making it a special holiday.

Very nice helpful people. Room was very nice & very clean! With good a/c . a very relaxing out of the way place! Although 2.7 km from Cairo Montenotte I enjoyed the walk but a car is essential unless your a keen walker or cyclist. Swimming pool looked lovely & clean.

I was travelling from overseas just for a few days. After 15 hours trip, a dip in the beautiful swimming pool, a nice cold beer and a really good dinner, was just what I wanted. Elena, the owner knows perfectly what customer service is all about! She has a great attitude and a warm smile...that always goes a long way! The bedroom is very simple but clean. The place is in the middle of nowhere...another world when you are coming from Los Angeles!

We stayed In February 2013, with snow all around. Everyone was very friendly and the room was comfortable. We especially enjoyed our dinners. Delicious food -and plenty of it. All in all a great place to stay and reasonably priced. At the time of year we were there we could not quite make use of what Cascina delvai could offer in the summer months, when no doubt it would be lovley rural retreat. Thank you
