Detailed Reviews
I just left this place after a 7-night stay and I so did not want to leave. Melisa & Luciano are incredibly sweet hosts and make this place unforgettable. I travelled solo, but never felt I am alone. They invited other guests and myself to go "banana-shopping", which was a fantastic trip into the jungle where we harvested bananas and other fruits we found along the way. The meals are super delicious and amazing creations. The reef just in front of the jetty is beyond beautiful. The corals are healthy and shine in all colors you can possibly imagine.
I also loved the accommodation, spacious wooden frames, covered with mosquito nets built over the water, with outdoor showers. One morning I was woken by the blows of dolphins swimming past right outside my room. Magical!
I am a hotel-owner myself and I sometimes wonder why every now and then people cry when they leave... honestly, I had to swallow a few times myself when the water taxi left the dock at Cocovivo. I will be back, next time with the family!
Oh, and thanks for my birthday cake!!!

This was a amazing place to stay. We awoke every day in a beautiful place with great weather. Traveling with young children and a large would be a challenge for most places but Cocovivo was up to the challenge. With the oldest in our group of 19 being in there 60's and the youngest being 2, this was a tall order and they exceeded expectations. The staff assiated in booking tours that were specific to our interest, along with getting all 19 of us across to other islands. The food was above and beyond our expectations. Hooray for the chefs!! The dogs would walk us to our cabins at night. Which was really cool when you have children. Honestly I could write pages on our experience here. If clear water with reefs and beautiful jungle are your thing, and if its not it should be. Check it out, you won't be disappointed. The staff will make you feel like family!!

CocoVivi is small and informal. Because of it, you can swim in bioluminescence if they turn off lights, not just kayak in it like elsewhere. And on clear days you can see the Milky Way at the same time, which is wonderful and unique. The reefs are adorable, with many big beautiful starfish, though overall the reefs per se are hard to compare with top snorkeling destinations like Belize. Kayaking is a lot of fun and at sunset you may run into dolphins—the dog is also eager to join. You can see or hear howler monkeys from time to time. But this place is more for somewhat hardcore nature lovers than comfort seekers—the rooms are simple and you need to go out for No2. Starlink WiFi is great, and you may actually have phone service even though the place looks remote.

A truly wonderful and unique location. The staff made us feel as we were staying with old time friends. The coral is amazing, expect to spend hours snorkeling swimming and paddling in calm and transparent water. Big thumbs up to the owners and staff for the land restoration. You are truly imersed in nature.

Absolutely amazing place! Melisa and Luciano made the experience even better. Yes, it is an eco-friendly resort where you will be "roughing" it a little bit. But don't let that stop you. The bioluminescent water, the reef, the jungle, the amazing food, the wildlife and the beauty of the island, more than make it 100% worth it. We snorkeled almost every night we were there and saw octopus, starfish, jelly fish, barracuda, rays, turtles and so much more. Immerse yourself in the surroundings and have the experience of a lifetime. Melisa arranged all our tours, our rides and more. Trust HER! She will make your stay a dream. BRING bug repellent and wear it all the time. We did and had zero problems with bugs. Got lazy and didn't put it on one day and was annoyed by them till I did. Go here, embrace the life and experience all this resort has to offer! Oh and pet the dogs a lot!!

This is one of the best travel experiences I've ever had. If you're willing to do a few days of "roughing" it (i.e. cold shower, walking to the toilet, bugs), you absolutely 100% must stay here. Drop dead gorgeous views, tons of fun activities to do, a great way to meet people from around the world, and genuinely excellent food.

Don't doubt, just go to this place. Beautiful reef, fantastic breakfast, lunch, dinner: thanks Luciano!! Beautiful island with birds, monkey's and sloths. Melisa and Luciano are ever so nice. Very cousy and nice cabanas. Dolphins swimming by every day. And I will never forget the swim in the dark with bioluminisense. Millions!!!!

Some of the best snorkeling I've ever done! Amazingly beautiful corral–every color and shape. The food is delicious, too. The accommodations are very simple & rustic. The only reason I didn't rate it excellent are the "no-see-ums"!! I left covered in bug bites–but it was worth it for the snorkling!

My wife and myself booked 2 nights at Coco Vivo and ended up staying 5 nights in total. This is one of the most fantastic places we've ever visited. Lazare & Carmen are such friendly host and makes you feel comfortable from the start.
From the canopy walk to Red Frog beach, Lazare spared no effort to entertain us and show us around. The night out at the expat bar/restaurant followed by the indigenous bar was certainly an unexpected but brilliant night out! Both Lazare's and Carmen's cooking skill are remarkable ;).
The location is great. We had the sunrise room above the kitchen. Waking up to the rising sun was certainly a highlight. Kayaking and snorkeling gear are available and allowed us to paddle to the dolphins in the bay and see starfishes and the beautiful coral just below the bungalow.
We could actually go on like this and write a book about our Coco Vivo experience, but the best would be to check it out yourselves, you will not be disappointed!

Depends on the season. Usually it's hot and humid 24/7 but in the winter it can cool off in the evening.
