The Old Kent Estates, originally developed in the mid 1800s, is one of the earliest established coffee plantations in Southern India. William Roland Wright, a Colonel in the British Army led to the transformation of this 200-acre estate from a jungle in which big game abound to a cultivated plantation and a delightful home to his family. First constructed in 1864, the stately bungalow has been fully restored to its former charm & glory and has vignettes of the by gone colonial era and houses several rooms. As a tribute to the Wright Family, each room is fondly named after one of the family members who once inhabited within. The property has been designed keeping in mind its rich history and tradition, ensuring the conservation and preservation of the natural surroundings, within an exclusive boutique setting. Each English cottage with its own private garden provides the utmost privacy, Get pampered with the Old Kent hospitality and experience the tranquil life of a typical estate owner in British India. Read some of the reviews from our guests to find out why we have been awarded the coveted Traveller's Choice Award two years running.

Old Kent estate is an old English coffee estate with very cozy 8 cottages. Constructed very tastefully and with modern amenities. Cottages are quite large and main attraction are the lavish bathrooms. It's a very good relaxing place away from our busy/ noisy cities and you will enjoy peace! Restaurant is small, open to nature but accommodates all guests even if all cottages are occupied. The designing of the reception area, library, mini home-theatre etc gives actual English feel. In case of food - we found breakfast excellent and lunch/ dinner reasonable based on local preparation. Staff is polite and helpful. Few things may be improved and which are: 1) Although staff is polite and they extend a warm welcome too, there is some disconnect between them and guests. They do

It was my birthday visited the resort. It was nice wanted to give 5 star but there is scope for improvement so giving it 4star. Would recommend the resort guys to get the TV in the home theatre room fixed it's got 2 non working lines also most of the CD were theatre print not original. Lot of power cuts and slow water supply to bathroom. Everything else was good we enjoyed just some feedback so that you guys improve.

Nothing else to be done, morning time and evening, listen to the birds, look for elephants footprints and enjoy the weather and food. Amidst a coffee State very well kept, is a retreat that is worth it. Close by is the Bylakuppe Tibetan monastery.
