I stayed here for two nights with my partner and very much enjoyed our stay, I would certainly recommend the Castle for a romantic get away. The Castle is situated in a fantastic location within the Brecon Beacons, of which you can see from the rear of the Castle. The grounds of the castle itself are stunning and I would...

My Fiance and I stayed here in March for the ghost tour and our whole stay was wonderful. Although we didn't see any ghosts, Steve was a great tour guide and had us all laughing throughout the night. Our whole was lovely with amazing views. We took advantage of the Brecons on the doorstep of the castle and had many...

We stayed for 3 nights in a double room with great views over the country park, the first morning we left our dog in the room when we went down for breakfast as we wern't sure what to expect, there were about 10 dogs all sat by...

Thanks for your positive review. It is great to read your comments and find that you enjoyed your stay as did fudge, and that you are going to return. I am happy to hear you enjoyed your breakfast – as did Fudge and that you also enjoyed the evening meal. We try to look after our doggy friends as much...

Totally unique, strangely romantic in a shabby-round-the-edges faded glory kind of way, this Welsh gothic castle was a wonderful setting for a break with our dog, yet was equally yet differently appropriate for the fairytale weddings taking place in the 19th century opera house within the castle. It's beautiful, but a bit shabby in parts, definitely not corporate and, really,...

Thank you for your kind comments, it is much appreciated. The Castle indeed is different – unique to the fact that it is still the only Hotel in Wales with a fully functioning theatre – hence the historical and romantic aspect, drawing in weddings! We try to keep away from a polished and uniformed image allowing each room to offer...

Me and my husband along with our dog Luna stayed at the castle in March, we stayed for three nights, I can say hand on heart we all loved it. From the pleasant reception staff who found us a dog dish as we had forgot to pack one, the room was wonderful, clean fresh and spacious, plenty of room for...

Thanks for such a comprehensive review, showing just how dog friendly we are. I am glad to hear that you found the staff pleasant and helpful too. The large plasma TV was mounted on the wall, in order to allow guests to watch TV in bed – and as you state it was the most space saving place to locate...

The Castle was all that we expected. The room we stayed in was large with an amazing bathroom and great views. The Castle had loads of history from the building itself to the furniture and paintings. It os clean and welcoming and has not been turned in to a bright modern hotel. The staff were friendly and could not do...

Fantastic short break in a truly dog friendly hotel. Accommodation was clean and very comfortable and the good quality sheets really pleased me. Alfie our wire haired dachshund was made to feel really welcome and was even given his own sausage breakfast and was able to sit with us whilst we ate our breakfast and our dinner! The staff were...

Attended a good friend's wedding here. The venue shows it has history and a few stories to tell. Rooms had real character. Staff were very friendly. Food was nice. Location in the mountains was really pretty. All in all, a good weekend.
