Fantastic place, genuine mediaeval castle. Really friendly staff. Horrible road up though, narrow lane with hairpin bends (coming from the north)

Interesting monument. Hasn't changed since I last stayed in 1962 on a cycling tour of Wales. Still have my stamped membership card and badge somewhere. Very obliging staff, even dropping my shirt into a wash cycle for me. The George is handy for refreshment, too.

As youth hostels go this was an excellent stay. Large medieval rooms with cosy beds. Cycles stored in a secure shed out the back. Food good, very filling. Bar fine with nice lounges to have a drink. Nice pub just around the corner.
