The first thing you'll find in this hotel is a frond desk staff trying to race the hotel fair. The second thing you will find in this hotel's rooms is a noise a/c that will make you feel like you are sleeping cheap motel. Also you will find bored people at the hotel bar because there are not many guest...

This place is amazing, it just is. Everything is beautiful and maintained to a brand-spankin new, super sparkly clean shine in every way. The reception, grounds, restaurants, hacienda, and cenote, were all beautiful and spotless. We stayed in a superior room which is actually a darling private cabana with palapa roof. The "rooms" are huge and beautifully decorated. I LOVED...

I have been about 4 times in Sotuta de Peon, with friends, guest and family. This visit really takes you back to the late 18 hundreds and early 19 hundreds. The glamour of the so called "green gold", the Sisal fiber. You will see and experience first hand all the process of obtaining the sisal fiber from the agave until...

We have traveled for years to Mérida so finding a real Hacienda, with a Cenote within walking distance and a terrific service by Angel (bellboy), Pedro and Jaime (waiters) was a great experience. The placefinds the right balance between relaxing atmosphere, great cabin rooms and excellent food. Martha, the managers goes the extramile to make you feel at home. We...

Only a short 35-minute drive south of Merida, nestled in the heart of rural Yucatan, lies this very beautifully restored hacienda and hotel. Rooms are spacious, have all the amenities you could need, a restaurant with great regional food, and swimming pools in which to cool off. The hacienda offers a lovely tour of the sisal fields, the hacienda, the...

We were there for a two day stay and recommend that as a minimum to really appreciate the experience. The rooms were great, the facilities (pool, walkways etc.) very well presented. The grounds and landscaping were beautiful. The restaurant was raised high to catch the breezes and overlooks the hacienda fields. The food and beverage service was excellent. The staff...

Sotuta was peaceful, the staff affable, and the guacamole delicious. We had a fantastic visit and will most certainly visit again. The weather cooperated as we swam in a gorgeous Cenote and when the wind died down, we had our Aromaflage handy to keep us protected from mosquito bites.

Absolutely fabulous stay at a great place. Quiet restful place, nice physical plant, great staff. We had the Deluxe cabana with the private pool (more like a hot tub that wasn’t hot). Plenty of room inside, nice bathroom with hand-painted Mexican tiles. No, it is not the 4-seasons, but it is very nice for being out on a rope-fiber plantation...

Sotuta de Peon is such a great find! We stayed in the deluxe cabins. The cabins were equipped with comfortable bedding, great a/c, a mini bar, and wifi! They also have a private pool and hammocks on the patio. It's wonderful! The hacienda is located just a short drive from Merida, but far enough that you get some peace and...
