Beautiful Cottage (Round Knott), 1 x Double Room & 2 x Single Rooms, all immaculately dressed very cosy and warm. (access to heating controls in the Double Bedroom - encouraged by the owners to turn it up ourselves if we wanted, as it was February). The owners by the way were lovely. We used logs from the log store to...

My friends and I just came back from a 3 night stay at Round Knott cottage for a 50th birthday girls weekend. The cottage was stunning, everything catered for (even milk, tea bags, ginger bread and a bottle of wine left for us by the lovely owners). We made good use of the hot tub each day and the views...

We had an absolutely great time in the lakes! So nice to be able to bring the dogs on a holiday! Jennifer makes you feel very welcome and it's amazing to come in to your cottage and everything is perfect, from champagne and chocolate to wood for the fireplace! Not a long a drive to some great walks and brilliant...

We stayed in Cloven Stone which has a hot tub and the most stunning open views over to the hills beyond. Could have stayed in that hot tub for the whole weekend but instead only stayed in it for half! The owners are really friendly and were very helpful in returning lost property we had left there. The cottage was...

Dirty hot tub water. Lack of cleanliness throughout the cottage. These cottages have the potential to be outstanding but unfortunately are very disappointing. We have visited other similar accommodation and these were by far the worst.

This is a most concerning post. We believe it to be an attempt to damage our business and reputation for whatever reason. We would ask that readers refer to all our other TripAdvisor reviews when considering whether to stay with us.

We stayed in the Great Calva cottage for my sister's Hen Do. It sleeps upto 14 very comfortably and there's a variety of rooms. All rooms were very comfortable and well equipped. Stunning location, which was just lovely to wake up to each day. Hot tub was a great bonus along with the sauna and steam box, very easy to...

I visited the cottages with my family over Christmas. We had such a nice break away, the dog friendly cottages were relaxing, ideal location for long walks, very nice hot tub - would love to go back in the summer and use! Carlisle was a short journey away and was good for shopping and we used a pass from the...

My fiancé and I were here celebrating New Year with my parents and our dog. The cottages are in such a beautiful location with plenty of good walks. The cottage we were staying in was very comfortable and cosy - we especially loved the log fire, and the fact that we could purchase more logs if we wanted to. The...

We had our wedding reception at Monkhouse Hill in late September. We had searched all over North Cumbria looking for the perfect venue as we were looking for somewhere not only to hold the reception, but also to host a post wedding Sunday event and also to provide accommodation for my wife's 40+ family from Australia and the US. We...

We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary here on 17th July for a short weekend break, staying in Cloven Stone cottage. The cottage is on two levels, downstairs has two bedrooms with ensuite facilities. The bedroom we used was comfortable. Upstairs houses the living area and kitchen plus a balcony with outside eating area and hot tub. On arrival we were...
