Spent two nights here at the end of July while my wife, her sister and mum and friends did the Three Peaks Walk. It's a great place to stay if you're doing serious walking - the whole place is geared up for it. It's not a luxury hotel, so very unfair to judge it in a similar way (as many...

We arrived late after a hard days walking. Nothing was too much trouble to the manager and staff to get us settled in and arranging a table for dinner. Dinner was very good as was breakfast. Really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful spot. Convenient for trips on the Settle and Carlisle line if too tired from walking.

I was unhappy with our 2 night stay at this pub and think its overpriced. Before you book here please read just look at the reviews and the management responses (I wish I had). Very dismissive and clearly cant take feedback. This place could be amazing if they would only listen to their customers and crack a smile when you...

We do listen to our customers and their feedback. It's very disheartening when you work your socks off and you get all these negative reviews. Over the last two months we have been full most nights, and out of all those people that have stayed with us more often than not the people that have placed the reviews have been...

We stayed at the crown whilst doing the Pennine way, the accommodation is very dated and certainly not worth the £130 a night they charged us (2 adults, 1 child). There was no shower just a bath, the TV was on its last legs with red blotches across the top of the screen ( no control we had to ask...

Thank you for your review, if you had been on our website it does state we are not a 5 star boutique hotel, but a small cosy and clean country hotel which I'm sure you can not dispute that. Our furniture may not be moden but it's within keeping of the character of the building. Modern furniture would just look ridiculous....

My sister and i stayed at the crown hotel for two nights recently before doing the three peak challenge. We collected our keys from uninterested bar staff and were not shown to our rooms. The pub itself has quite a nice feel to it but is spoiled by unfriendly pedantic signs warning you to not do things such as sit...

We are sorry you were not shown to your room I'm unsure why you were not but will look in to the matter as it is staff policy to show guests to their rooms. We don't like having to put signs up ourselves but we find that we have to. On a weekend we can lose up to 20 glasses...

We recently stayed near The Crown as some of our group were doing the 3 Peak Challenge. Our first night there we had dinner in the very busy pub. Nice food but no dogs allowed and as it was so busy, we asked if the folliwing night we could order and takeaway as we were only steps away from the...

As so many others before me the reason for booking a room at The Crown was because my friends and I were attempting the Yorkshire 3 Peaks. We stayed for 2 nights. Upon arrival on our first evening we were buoyed after a long journey by the delightful exterior of the pub/hotel and had high hopes. We entered the bar...

The initial availability enquiry followed up with a booking both by telephone gave me confidence that we would be staying at a nice homely establishment as both owners were pleasant and helpful. I made a reservation (deposit by credit card for £20 each total 160) for 2 rooms (1double,1triple) to accommodate for all 4 of us for 2 nights. The...

My friends and I had been planning to do the Yorkshire three peak challenge for sometime. It had taken a number of weeks to arrange because we are all working and we had to co-ordinate diaries. I was really excited about the trip because it was going to be my greatest challenge thus far. My friends had already booked two...
