This is a country hotel that seems to be resting on its laurels of being known as a good venue for peace and tranquillity It really is a great choice for this The setting on the banks of the Breede river is simply stunning Lovely garden and grounds kept neat and tidy But the whole place needs a bit of...

I loved this place. Very peaceful and friendly. I read a few of the bad reviews, and frankly I don't even understand what these people are talking about. The Malagas Hotel is not a luxury establishment, but they have clean and comfortable rooms, friendly staff, and a very nice common sitting area overlooking the Breede River. With your stay, you...

Beautiful food both New Years Eve and New Years day. Service was wonderful, friendly and professional. We are a group of 8-12 friends who go somewhere every year. We usually stay 2 nights over new years. We were 8 people this time, and had a lovely, relaxing and memorable time. Our last visit, we were a little disappointed with the...

The Malagas Hotel should be avoided at all cost. When we arrived we were treated with disrespect and contempt. It is not friendly towards day visitors at all and therefore I can't review anything else.

Management at the Hotel extremely unfriendly. This place will never see us again. It has such a lot of potential. We were willing to spend money for a nice lunch but treated like intruders and left after only ordering a drink. Stay away. Avoid at all costs.

We enjoyed our stay here. A place to rest at. This hotel has alot of opportunity serving as a starting point to move from and explore attractions encompassing it. A few flaws need attention though. Spend a little more money on maintenance, place needs a face lift. Management should pay serious attention to their management skills and interaction with customers...

Despite been made several months in advance and supported by numerous emails and phone calls to "Belinda", Our room bookings for the extended family to be accommodated together was incorrect. Side by side was back to back in a block with no access between rooms. On requesting we be moved to rooms as booked, we were met with rude and...

None of the front of house staff was ever aggressive. No one messed up this reservation. This is the Guests exact e-mail: "I also want to request that my (booking) will be two rooms next too or close together and in a good location in the hotel, as I have booked very early." This booking of three rooms was next...

Although only built in 1996, it seems older than that. Comfortable bedroom with lovely view of the river. Dining room dark and a little depressing and the food was average compared to all the other meals we had on our two week stay in South Africa. Perhaps to be expected when it is so far 'off the beaten track'. Not...
