I took my 90 year old friend and her goddaughter to Norfolk for a treat.and a treat is what we got. Wonderful hotel in beautiful gardens. Lovely rooms with such comfortable beds and so quiet. My elderly friend delighted with her walk in shower. Lovely evening meals so well cooked and the staff were so welcoming and went out of their way to make our stay a success. everything was so much better than we had expected and we very much hope to be back soon.
Beautiful setting, peacefuland tranquil. lovely gardens with a swimming pool. Staff pleasant. Food very good. Have been a few times now, always very good. Thoroughly recommend it. A bit off the beaten track and easy to pass on the road as it sits behind trees so keep a watchful eye when approaching it.
We called in at the Old Rectory on the off chance of a room for the night , luckily they were able to accommodate us. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant , breakfast was very good and our room was spacious and very clean . We have no hesitation in recommending the Old Rectory and will certainly return .

Breakfast was well cooked and plentiful. Fruit is available and I enjoyed the mixed berries. The food at dinner was good but the portions were rather too large for me. A starter was quite sufficient There is an attractive garden with several bird boxes attached to the walls. I was told that most of them were occupied At dinner one evening we enjoyed seeing a busy pair of bluetits flying in and out feeding their brood. The staff were pleasant and obliging.
We stayed at The Old Rectory for three days in room 5, which was well away from any road noise. The real plus point was that it's all on one level, which can be so important in later years! The bed was super comfy - neither too hard or soft. We had requested prior to the visit to have either a very thin duvet or blankets, as we always find duvets provided are far too warm for us; that was absolutely no problem and they had fitted the bed with a top sheet and two lovely blankets, so just perfect. The room itself was fairly basic looking - a bit like a travel lodge, but was spotlessly clean and functional as was the bathroom with a walk-in shower which was fine but inclined to be slippy, as was the tiled floor when wet. Breakfast choice could be a bit limited for some; there…
