A peaceful and pristine paradise. Especially after the fabulous women running to dive center "bought" the 4am rooster :) The accommodation and dive shop are not run by the same people but they're so closely affiliated, you'd never notice so I'm talking about both here. Hoga island diving is as good as it gets, with healthy coral and fish life...

It was a real trek to get here from Singapore - 4 flights, a taxi ride and 2 ferries - with the entire journey spanning 16hrs. For us city folk, the living conditions also took some getting used to. There's no internet (the horror!), no electricity except from 6-10pm (primarily for charging devices), no running water (showers involve a large...

This place is really hard to reach: take a propeller plane from Makassar to Wakatobi, take a taxi to the port of Wangi Wangi, take the local ferry for 2 hours and then be dropped to a small boat to finally reacj the island... But it is really worth it. The bungalows are very simple but right on the beach....

I had a lovely stay at the resort, yes it is basic but what else can you expect for such affordable pricing and remote location. The generous beach area was a real bonus as its literally few steps away from your doorstep. The snorkeling was great once you get past the 2nd jetty and the diving was also incredible with...

We were in Hoga for 4 nights and 3 of those days we dove 3 times per day with Asrul. The atmosphere in the resort is really cozy and the cook was excellent. We were glad that we brought our own mosquito net and set it up on the verandah because there are lots of mosquitoes on the island. The...

We spent one week at this beautiful place and really loved it. If you are looking for a remote place far away from tourists with unspoiled reef to dive or snorkle this is the place to go. It is a bit time consuming to get there as you have to take the plane from Makassar to Wangi Wangi and then...

If going to an island with very basic accommodation and environment friendly, this is a place to go. The "resort" is duplex cottage and one traditional bathroom shared by four. Fresh water is an issue in the island. Electricity is out at 11:00 PM. Having the cottages in the middle of forest, be prepared for mosquitos. If you just want...

Arriving at Hoga Island Dive Resort was akin to arriving on Gilligan's Island. A little nook, nestled along the coast amidst jungly trees it certainly does have the feel of a castaway haven. This place is quaint. The accommodation is simple, with traditional mandi for a bathroom, a hammock and lounge chairs on each verandah and most importantly a comfy...
