Nestled amidst the sweeping dunes of the Liwa Desert, Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara is lauded for its serene atmosphere, marrying luxury with the natural beauty of its surroundings. Guests often commend the spacious and elegantly designed rooms, though a few have encountered functional hiccups. The resort's deluxe amenities, including diverse dining options and pools, draw high praise, despite occasional service inefficiencies. While the experience is deemed unforgettable, the associated costs are also noted to be steep.

Always an excellent stay at QAS - the scenery is absolutely stunning, the staff are attentive and the amenities second to none. We have been to QAS at least a dozen times over the last 7 years and always love it - its feels like home every time we come.
We love that all the management staff always come and say hello on arrival. And try to accommodate all requests.
Special thanks to Shubham (our butler) for taking care of our every need. Plus the all housekeeping staff make sure that our room is tidy, clean and well stocked of towels and water (as much as we can drink - still and sparkling).
We are titanium members - so they always do their best to upgrade if they have availability even though they are not obligated too.
All the staff are always looking out for us wherever we go to make sure we have everything we need and that we are happy. The service is always really important to us and can make or break a holiday and this team (despite turnover of staff) never disappoints.
They have really upped their game in terms of offerings for the spa and special dinners and excursions. Nothing has disappointed. We did a dinner at the dinner one evening (dining by design) and whilst very expensive- we were so happy with the whole evening - was so memorable for all of us.
There are always glitches and things that don’t go perfectly but it’s the attitude of the staff and management when it’s brought to their attention which makes this a world class hotel. They always take on the feedback.
We’ve been all over the world and still think this is one of the best hotels and well run teams that we have been to.
The little touches are always wonderful - the sand art on our door-step. The cake on arrival. All the baby/kid amenities provided. And this time they personalised a pillow for our baby with his name on. We really loved that.
Food is always great and breakfast is always high quality. Staff at breakfast are very attentive.
Kids club staff are always kind and helpful. Pool and pool bar/restaurant is great and kids food is great as well as in-room dining.
We feel it’s worth every penny and that the pool villas are worth the extra cost.
We will keep coming back twice a year and know we won’t be disappointed.

This resort offers a unique experience with its stunning desert landscape, combining traditional Arabian architecture with modern amenities. Guests can enjoy a variety of activities such as dune bashing, camel trekking, desert walks, and spa treatments, along with fine dining options and opulent accommodations. I liked this resort for its breathtaking views and serene environment, making it a popular destination for those seeking a luxurious and tranquil escape like us
Though it's bit off season but we enjoyed the camelride activity and desert walking near the sunset point with natural oasis is really very good picturesque spot , our butler shubham had taken care of us really very well right from the receiving to the sending off he made our stay pleasant and happy one ..
Al waha the breakfast restaurant the serving team personnel hari is very polite and friendly
Reception staff to housekeeping staff everyone did their job really very well ..
Resort maintenance is cool and neat
Food though the Indian cuisine is not up to the mark but passable for breakfast with all other French & Italian options
In room dining menu the dishes we ordered are yummy but they can still add even more varieties

Our recent three-day stay at Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara in Abu Dhabi was truly delightful. As a family of three, we were looking to unwind and disconnect—and this stunning property provided the perfect setting. The facilities are excellent, capturing the essence of a luxurious five-star experience, and the staff were exceptionally warm and welcoming. They went above and beyond to make sure we felt genuinely cared for, which added such a special touch to our stay. You can tell the hospitality and kindness here are priorities, and that’s something truly unique.
While the stay was largely wonderful, there were a few areas where communication could be improved. For example, upon check-in, there was initially an issue with our room category. We were told we had booked a lower category than we actually had, which led to a slight delay as it was sorted out. Fortunately, as a GHA Discovery Titanium member, we received a double upgrade in the end, so all worked out. However, this added to the overall check-in time and highlighted a need for smoother communication. Additionally, despite booking for two adults and one child and requesting a restaurant reservation, our table was initially reserved for only two adults. It also took multiple follow-up emails to get clear insights into the half-board package cost. I shared this feedback with the director of rooms, who was very receptive, generously offering us a bottle of champagne and promising to follow up and share his contact details for future visits. However, I haven’t yet received the promised follow-up to date.
We also encountered a communication lapse during one dinner. Although we were told that chicken nuggets with fries would be available for our daughter, our main courses arrived at least 15-20 minutes before her meal. Not wanting to eat in front of our hungry daughter, we waited for her food to arrive, which left our own meals cold. To be honest, we didn’t end up touching our main courses and simply focused on ensuring our daughter enjoyed her meal. However, the team kindly waived the entire dinner cost, which was a very nice gesture.
This dining experience was part of the restaurant’s first opening night, and I suggested that they communicate it as a soft opening—perhaps even charging less to better manage guest expectations. It seems they took this feedback to heart (or made the decision anyways, since the first evening generally did not go as planned), as we dined there again the following night and had a wonderful experience. That evening, all guests were offered a 50% discount, which was a thoughtful approach to allow the team to coordinate smoothly before the official opening.
Overall, we had an amazing experience, and Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara’s serene atmosphere and exceptional staff left a lasting impression on us. With a little fine-tuning in communication, this property could easily be a flawless getaway spot for anyone seeking relaxation, luxury, and heartfelt hospitality.

We had a fabulous time at the hotel. We stayed for 5 nights and booked a deluxe garden room and was immediately upgraded to a balcony room on arrival. We arrived in the late hours so couldn't see the view until the following morning and WOW!! what a view. Sand as far as the eye can see it was truly amazing. We ate in the Al Wahal for breakfast, all fresh and everything was clearly marked. Even a an area for GF and Vegan. The Al Falaj was the most amazing evening and probably the best as it was so authentic down to the fantastic food and drink, camels, and a lady who did my Henna, the music and the staff. We ate twice in the Ghadeer. Thanks to Sahan, Rajneesh, Aayushma, Aabiskar and Riyak, all great people. The food again was hot and fresh and a large protions with a variety of foods. We also had a meal at the Sunhail with cocktails, the food yet again was amazing and a big shout out to Chantelle and Ali on cocktails, who remembered what we had to drink the night before. Very impressive. We were invited to meet the GM on our last evening for cocktails at sunset. This was a lovely touch and we could ask questions and provided all the feedback of our trip. The only downside we had was not enough drawer space, but we were given extra hangars and a rail to hang everything. The housekeeping supervisor had noted this on a feedback form and came personally to help us out. Fabulous. would we come back....in a heartbeat. Please note though the car journey from Abu Dhabi airport is 2hrs 30 mins and not 90 mins as the website claims. All worthwhile the travel though. We enjoyed a couples spa, this took over 2 hrs and was very relaxing. The manager also arranged for us to have one on one session with the Yoga man Ratheesh, he gave us a complimentary session of the singing bowls, we will definitely be taking this up when we settle back to 'normal' living. The family pool area was vast too. The pool man came round with cool bottles of water, freezing cold flannels and free ice lollies, he was great. Everyone on the resort are only too happy to assist with whatever you need. Everyone says good morning. There are buggy's to take you round the resort and to your room should you need it. We tried to walk everywhere even though it was hot, the views were breathtaking.

As a couple, we stayed in a Royal Pavilion in October 2023 in this fabulously beautiful resort in the middle of the desert.
Only adults are allowed in these pavilions (10 of them), which keeps the noise level to a minimum for those seeking peace and quiet. You can't hear any buggies driving around or loud pool music here either, as these pavilions are several hundred meters away from the main complex.
But you don't have to walk through the heat, at the push of a button in the app a friendly buggy would arrive within 5 minutes and take you wherever you wanted.
In addition to the wonderful, authentic and yet modern furnishings, the comfortable beds are particularly worth mentioning (I haven't woken up so relaxed for a long time!).
The staff are, without exception, very friendly and attentive.
We would particularly like to highlight our personal butler Rajith Kumara, who was responsible for us throughout our stay.
He was available to us at any time via WhatsApp and took care of all our requests as quickly and as well as possible.
The quality of the food in all the restaurants we visited was excellent, but the breakfast buffet deserves special mention. If you can't find the right thing for you in the best quality there, you probably won't find it anywhere else. On weekends and in high season, however, you shouldn't arrive too late for breakfast (we were always there around 8 a.m.), as it gets quite busy from around 9 a.m. and there are waiting times.
Unfortunately, we had some noise restrictions because a new infinity pool is being built in front of the breakfast terrace.
This should be finished in November 2023, however.
The 24-hour room service has a large selection of food and drinks. These can also be selected and ordered via the app, they are delivered around 40 minutes later and finely presented.
We used this service several times at lunchtime for a little something and enjoyed it very much.
The price level is quite high for everything here, but all goods have to be delivered here over several hours by car, which drives up the costs.
For us it was worth the money, as this place with its stylish buildings in the middle of the desert has something magical about it.
There is a high probability that we will return there again.........

We had a very pleasant stay at the resort! The service team left a deep impression with us. They made every effort to ask if the guests are enjoying themselves and if everything is OK. The housekeeping team even went out of their way to craft a goodnight message at our doorstep using sand which is an exceedingly sweet gesture! The waiters Mehraj and Parveen are great when we had our dinner at Al Falaj, so are all the dedicated staff who ferried us in the buggy. They are always serving with a smile and made the guests feel welcome. Finally, a big special thanks goes out to the activity manager, Fatimah, who is very understanding and kind after the mishap in the Polaris activity.

This hotel is literally an oasis of peace. Nestled in the most beautiful desert landscape, it offers a lot of privacy and lots of activities. There are large villas with one, two or three bedrooms plus a small pool or cheaper, smaller rooms without a private pool. The food is excellent in all restaurants. Especially the meat is incredible. The Italian chef understands his profession and obviously only buys premium quality. Even the breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired. The staff are friendly and helpful. The housekeeping is a bit awkward now and then but makes up for it with a lot of charm. You can book great trips by jeep into the desert, ride the horses or whizz down the sand dunes with the surfboard. There are falcons, goshawks and eagle owls to watch at "work" and dogs who are dressed for special races. Sensational massages, yoga classes or ice baths can also be booked at any time. There are two large pools, one of which is for adults only. The resort is very well maintained and clean and there are always buggies available to drive guests to the desired destinations, as some are long distances that must be covered. All in all a very relaxed and wonderful holiday.

We stayed at the Nasr al Sarab for 3 nights. It was like being in 1001 nights. Simply wonderful. The whole complex is really a dream. The staff were always 100% friendly, open and happy to take time for small talk. Our waiters Kiki (Al Falaj), Chantal (Suhail), Raj (Pool) and Rajneesh (Ghadeer) were very friendly, quick, attentive and implemented all of our wishes. All the others whose names we don't remember were also fantastic.
In the spa, Toi, the competent masseuse, and the wellness guru Khon Dumo deserve a mention. With their experience and expertise, they quickly alleviated minor aches and pains and made a sensational 4-hour break for me a real experience.
If there is one small point for improvement, it is that unfortunately there are no drawers at all in the rooms for laundry and small items, as well as swimwear. But that is moaning at the highest level.
The room was absolutely gorgeous with its huge terrace and a wonderful, very large bathtub. The bathroom itself is also very spacious with two sinks and a separate toilet and shower.
We will come back and also take advantage of the outdoor activities. The range of spa, wellness, sports and outdoor activities was a bit overwhelming for us, because we also wanted to spend time at the infinity pool.
Oh, by the way, there are at least 1000 spots where you can take sensational photos in any desert light.
Thank you for this wonderful time out.
