We stayed here for 1 night but wish we could have stayed longer. As soon as we arrived we immediately felt relaxed and peaceful. We had dinner with other guests and hosts Guy and Janet and we had a wonderful and funny evening with delicious food and great company. Afterwards we star gazed and saw numerous shooting stars and topped...

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel incredibly welcome. Janet and Guy were so informative, entertaining and with a wicked sense of humour, they really had us relaxed and in good spirits immediately. We really felt like we were with long term friends or family. And the scenery was breath-taking. Wonderful stay!

The words 'Clean, comfortable, authentic, and charming' can easily describe the accommodation, what is harder to describe is the deep sense of calm that emanates from this idyllic property hidden away in the Pyrenean foothills. The kids ran endlessly in the grounds amongst the big old trees, and especially loved the swimming pool. There's plenty to do within a short drive...

"Tripadvisor" got us here and we were not diasappointed. During the stay you feel like being part of the family. Having dinner (fresh, homemade and great value-for-money) with Janet and Guy and other guests is a completely different experience than staying in a hotel (better and cheaper as well!). The two grandchildren were a bonus adding to the family feeling....

Janet and Guy are a charming couple eager to make your visit comfortable and satisfying. Don't miss having dinner with them as it is truly delicious fare, all prepared by the couple from the freshest ingredients, many grown right in their own garden. It was wonderful to experience life in the country and learn more about our hosts as we...

For someone looking to take a break from city life this was the perfect destination. Janet and Guy were the perfect hosts, friendly and more than happy to share their in-depth, first hand knowledge of the plentiful local sites, peaks, lakes and national parks including suggested routes and rough timings which made it very easy to plan each hike and...

We stayed in a gite at Hauts Paturages for a week giving us chance to see the Pyrenees and the towns of Lourdes and Bagneres de Bigorre. The accomodation was excellent, very clean and spacious for the 4 of us. Guy and Janet, the owners, were very friendly and helpful. There were plenty of places to go if you fancied...

We stayed here for a week self-catering. The location of the village above Lourdes was stunning, with wonderful views. To the South are the Pyranees and to the North the south of France is laid out in front of you. A thirty minute walk up a ridge affords even better views, and there are longer walks up the nearby peaks....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Les Hauts Paturages/Higher Pastures is a heavenly hideaway set in 30 acres of stunningly beautiful scenery with the essential heated swimming pool! Perfectly placed between Lourdes and Bagneres de Bigorre in the Haute Pyrenees we are half way up a mountain with breathtaking views, surrounded by the legendary Cols. We offer the perfect place to recharge, relax and recover from everyday life. Should, after a couple of days of R and R you decide you might need some action - that’s no problem as we are between two valleys offering everything from cycling (think Tour de France), Mountain Biking or VTT as its called in France (mad thrills), White Water Rafting, Climbing and Canyoning, Hiking, Walking, Water Parks for the young and young at heart, Star Gazing, and many more activities. If Winter Sports are your passion we can organise ski-ing and snowboarding at 5 resorts all offer fantastic value for money, a long snow season and queuing is rare. We have a selection of gorgeous self catering cottages (gites) and several bed and breakfast rooms - all with independent access and bathrooms. Amazingly we can accommodation up to 15 people in our big farmhouse and 4 people in Le Cottage (our house parties are legendary) to romantic rose petals on the bed, perfect for honeymooners and valentine weekenders rooms. Of course, we love single travellers (usually very interesting people) and families (we have children ourselves). All gites come supplied with everything you need and more besides. Should you be interested we also cook locally produced seasonal food on request and regularly lit up our wood fired pizza oven and make amazing pizzas. ... more   less
