Small 5 bedroom hotel nestled against the wall of the 15th century Castle de Buitrago del Lozoya, which was built in the Islamic-Spanish Mudéjar style. Our room Al Rabad was decorated with a Morrocan theme & was clean, very comfortable with a lovely bathroom containing a rain shower along with a power massage spa shower. The hotel is located on Arco,10, a little street leading off the small Plaza de la Constitución at the end of Calle Real, down from the main square. Continue past the entrance & you enter an Arched gate leading through the wall of the town to the Iglesia de Santa María del Castillo, the beautiful historic church in the centre of the walled old town. We had breakfast in the Plaza de la Constitución at Asador las Murallas as the hotel didn't cater for it but this wasn't a problem, as the plaza was about 5 seconds down the street. Loved it so much we are booked in for another visit in June.…
We stayed here for two nights in April. We called the owner upon arrival and he came to meet us at the hotel. The room was lovely and clean, nicely decorated and the bed was very comfortable. Oddly, the booking offered a 'pillow menu' which wasn't mentioned anywhere when we arrived or in the information pack. Anyway, not a huge problem but a strange thing to advertise. We actually lost the room 'key', which is a card but the owner was very understanding and reset the code so that no one could enter the hotel or our room if they found the card. I'd definitely recommend staying here if you're heading to Buitrago.
