A lovely, peaceful place to stay. Good, clean accommodation with TV and cooking utilities. Our cottage was quite spacious which was great as we had dogs with us. The walled garden was a huge bonus as the dogs could go out safely. There are nice walks taking you either by the river or up the hills. The owners were very friendly and most helpful but left you to your own devises. The cottages are in easy driving reach of some of the towns. We enjoyed our stay here.

We love the tranquillity of these cottages. Really well situated, you walk out of the door and decide whether to turn left at the gates for the hill walks or right to the river. Go up the mountain on a choice of well signed loop walks, or pick the level and not at all soggy river walk. Half an acre of walled garden means you can take a dog and find him again once he,s explored the rabbity bottom of the garden. A great base , we finally discovered Doneraile Park this trip and ,again with dogs in mind, Inch strand is a golden beach with dunes behind within day tripping distance. It's impossible to praise Gerry and Maura enough for their helpfulness and local knowledge yet after they welcome you in they won't be hovering, so you can enjoy your cottage in peace. We never did get the wi-fi going but didnt miss it, and don't expect open plan luxury cottages but very clean and charming ones.

Just spent a very enjoyable week [1st-8th July] at Daragh Cottages. They are traditional in style but have all modern day comforts. There is T.V. and WiFi,fully equipped kitchen, and plenty of cooking utensils and cutlery etc.Bedrooms and bathroom are of excellent standard. The cottages are situated in a very beautiful setting in the grounds of the owners home.Although being in heart of beautiful countryside it is but a short car ride to nearest town.Gerry, the owner,is happy to provide information on places to visit.

We can only echo previous comments. A beautiful, peaceful spot with small but clean and comfortable cottage. Easily reached in 1 hour from Cork airport. Probably more of an ideal spot for walkers and bikers . We had to drive long distances to shops and restaurants but planned accordingly. The Clongibbon Hotel in Mitchelstown was welcoming and provided a great breakfast! Roads well signposted and everyone friendly and helpful. A very good value cottage.

We had a lovely holiday staying here in the middle of unspoiled Irish countryside...so peaceful... great place to unwind. Rustic cottages beautifully clean and well kept. Huge walled garden with tables and chairs to sit and enjoy sunshine, peace, and eating outdoors. Owners very friendly and helpful and even stayed up to greet us and let us in when we arrived late! They were also very helpful with where to begin researching our ancestry. Beautiful unspoilt location where there are lots of walks and mountain biking routes. Also good base for car tours. Excellent value. Even had perfect weather in September!

Great spot, off the main road, beautiful restored cottages in a walled garden, nice owner, big garden area, bike lock up with plenty of workspace, hoses etc - and only 15 min drive to the trail centre. Highly recommended to all - perfect for mountain bikers.

In all the places I and my family have stopped I have never given 5 stars. This was everything you could ask for in Ireland at a very affordable price. From the minute we arrived to the time we left the service was fantastic. The accommodation was clean fresh and inviting. A great bed to sleep in and a wonderful garden view with wildlife to greet you in the morning. After a great day out it was so relaxing to come back to and with lovely walks all round we could not ask for more. With amenities and restaurants 15 mins away we would definitely stop here again. Within an hour of Killarney and 30 mins from cork .Plenty of information at hand and advice if asked for which was exactly to the questions we asked and were excellent to our needs. Thank you for all your help

We have just returned from a three-week trip to Ireland. Our first week was at Darragh Cottages. It was everything we expected and more. The cottage, a tastefully renovated stable, was roomy enough for our party of 4 adults but cozy and warm after a day of sightseeing in somewhat chilly autumn weather. We all slept well in the comfortable beds and the quiet of the rural setting. The location made day trips to the southwest of Ireland easy and as the cottages are separate from the owners' house, there was no worry that we might be disturbing them if we came back late in the evening. The kitchen was well equipped and we liked the convenience of the washing machine. The owner was helpful in recommending local restaurants and pubs and there were numerous pamphlets available to help plan each day. We loved listening to the birdsong in the mornings and greeting the cows in the field beside the lane as we left each day. We did miss being able to use the internet to look up opening times, addresses for the GPS etc. On leaving we discovered that internet was available but we hadn't asked for it so it wasn't turned on in our cottage. Neither was it advertised so we didn't think to ask.
