I was also present on the last Chris Stewart Walking Tour. As a solo traveler I can say it was the best thing I could have done. Casa Ana a wonderful place to stay with delicious food with very comfortable and quiet accomadations. I do a lot of walking at home so I did not find the walks on this... More

As 2 senior citizens who have had a large number of walking holidays mostly independent walking we were somewhat apprehensive about joining a walking group who were likely to be younger and fitter. The group were an eclectic bunch of English, Australian, Californian, Finland and ourselves Irish. A stimulating party of friendly and interesting people. Casa Ana provided a perfect... More

Was on the previous ‘Lemon Walk‘ & couldn’t think of a better way to spend a holiday away from the kids, TV or traffic than at the end of the road in a white Moorish village. The tangible peace of the clear mountain air was interrupted only by the hush and echo of the valley wind and water and the... More

I was on the same holiday as Sara in the review before and I would echo everything she said and I would just add that our holiday had moments that money just can't buy. The camaraderie of the group, the laughter, the singalong with Chris and his guitar cannot be contained within a star rating but will live in the... More

We stayed in Casa Ana for the Chris Stewart waking holiday and what a week it was! We were fortunate in that we had great weather (confounding the forecast) and we were part of a really sociable, friendly group of people, but everything was superb. Anne is a great host and we loved staying in her peaceful hotel with fabulous... More

This hillside retreat is perfect for those who want a comfortable, quiet space. I was in Room 2, a pretty room with Moorish architecture. The doors led out to a terrace with views over the Andalusian mountains. There was an en-suite bathroom, very clean with a good shower. Next door was the kitchen/dining room where the meals, arranged by local... More

What I liked best about Casa Ana, and there is a list, includes its architectural aesthetics, comfort and style of the accomodation, the gourmet food, the generous service, and on my writing retreat, the excellent company of writers. Casa Ana is located on a mountain ridge with close views of one of the Alpajurra mountains. There is a wonderful shaded... More

Anne Hunt, the delightful host and owner of Casa Ana has created an art out of a business at three levels: Firstly, Anne has developed Casa Ana into what can only be described as installation art - a sympathetic and creative fusion of traditional Moorish architecture with modern and elegant facilities. Secondly, her diligent and friendly team have developed the... More

of mountain views, delicious food, comfort and hospitality. I went for a fortnight on one of Anne's writing retreats.Casa Ana's a wonderful place to be alone, yet in company. I marvel at what she's achieved in this tiny mountain village. There's total attention to detail: the beds are comfortable, the showers luxurious and always hot, the rooms simply furnished, the... If you want to 'get away' then get away to Casa Ana. I attended a writing retreat here, and the isolation and beauty of the location couldn't have been more inspiring. The views are out of this world... except it's very much in this world with an amazingly - and surprisingly- vortex of culture in the surrounding white villages -... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Casa Ana is a historic village house in the mountainous Alpujarra region of Andalucia. Once a family home, with a wine press, olive store, barns and a goat shed, the property was lovingly restored between 2005 and 2013. It provides comfortable, quiet accommodation with 8 en suite bedrooms, dining room, sitting room, a Moorish courtyard garden and several south-facing terraces. The style is simple and traditional - chestnut roof beams and terracotta floors - but with modern comforts, including underfloor central heating in winter and rain showers. At Casa Ana we provide delicious breakfasts using local produce - fresh oranges from village growers, local honey, eggs, bread, hams and olive oil. Picnic lunches are also available. The house is located in the mountain village of Ferreirola (population around 28), near Pitres. The village has fantastic views of the Trevelez river gorge, and is a wonderful base to go walking, explore the Sierra Nevada National Park, visit the traditional white villages of the Alpujarra or take a day trip to Granada or the Mediterranean beaches. ... more   less
