Refugio da Ilha Ecolodge is one of those places that you must know in Pantanal. It's a pristine place and full of good energies. The owners are gorgeous and very gentle person. As a photographer I must say that it's an excellent place for aquatic animals like Giant Otters, Tapirs, plenty of fishes and birds and the House is cozy...

Was there for 5 days with my girlfriend in October 2016. It is definitely not the cheapest option, but it is worth every dime of it. Since you never have more than maybe 20 guests there (in our case it was every day between 4 and 12 guests including us), it feels really familiar. You get treated as a family...

I spent 5 nights here and could have stayed a month. So much stunning wildlife to see. The family are extremely welcoming and all of the guides have great knowledge. We had isn't otters with six pups (?) outside the lodge and even saw a jaguar hunting caiman. Incredible. The variety of birds on the river is incredible. Come here!!

This is a beautiful place, inside and out. Leonardo and his family are lovely, friendly, an example of a genuine family business - The Pentanal itself is grandiose : so many animals - so wild - super impressive! I think that the Pentanal should be much more famous! This is a top of the world destination - We had a...

Myself, wife and two kids (5 and 8) had amazing days in contact with nature. I recomend waking up at 5:00 and listen the...

Although we visited Pantanal during wet season and therefore didn’t see as much mammals as we had hoped for, we had an amazing and unforgettable stay at Refugio da Ilha Ecolodge. The family running this place is so warm and welcoming that they make you feel at home right away. The food is absolutely amazing, you get three meals a...

Rustic, clean and charming lodge in the southern Pantanal. Located on a working cattle ranch. Proprietors and staff are very friendly and attentive and clearly take great pride in what they do. Common areas clean, wifi. Sleeping rooms also clean, basic but highly comfortable. Our guide, Stefan Grol came through "Pure Brasil" ground operator and was with us the entire...

We stayed here for 3 nights and had a great time, despite the very poor weather. Leo did a great job in organising everything for us (including transport and tours in Bonito) following our stay here. Sergio our guide was excellent and very knowledgable. Although he doesn't do many tours now, if you can book him he is worth it....
