We paid 150 USD for a room for three. This hotel has little soul and from the minute you arrive you know you are there to pay. It is 45 minutes from Flores and 4 kms from nearest village, El Remate, so if you are without a car you are fully at the mercy of the hotel. ( bus 3...

The hotel is very well located if you are planning to visit tikal. The accomodations felt a little old; the gardening is very nice. And the buffe for breakfast is very delicious. Hoping to stay there again, haaaa don't forget to take the kayak and go explore the espectacular lake!!

Just stayed and whilst the location is nice (on the lake), it is about half way between Tikal and Flores. Thank god they have an airport transfer to and from. The rooms are large and comfortable, but haven't been upgraded for a while. The hotel was helpful in organising a tour of Tikal, I would say the staff are very...

My wife & I stayed there 3 nights as part of a Gate1 guided tour in mid-November 2013, thus we were away all day; it was delightful but we certainly would not go there for a lounging-hang-out vacation (their view of the lake is quite limited). Service was impeccable, the restaurant was delightful and the pool was nice (though cool...

Located on the shores of Lago Peten Itza and well located for day trips to Tikal, Yaxha and Flores. Guatemala was just tacked on to a two week trip to Belize but I do wish I'd spent longer. Tikal, Yaxha and Flores were impressive and well worth the trip. The country has a reputation for violence but this is (apparently)...

We are traveling with a tour group and had been warned that the wifi was expensive. In fact, in 14 nights, the two we stayed there were the only hotel with a wifi charge. We had also been warned that the water for drinking was not free there, another first on our trip. We were also advised that the mini...

The Camino Real has a perfect location for seeing many nearby ruins--Tikal, Yaxha, etc. I gave it an "average" rating instead of "very good" because it needs some serious updating. There is a new boutique hotel next door that may provide some needed competition so the owners will invest in making this property everything it could be--and it could be...

The place is gorgeous. Far away from the Tikal Mayan Ruins, near Lake Izabaal. When hotels want $10 for Internet Fee, and another $3. for a bottled water, and lay out snacks, drinks, that they plan to charge you $3.00 for, makes one want to clamp down and watch his money. I didn't plan to consume, and my credit card...
