Since February 2009, reborn into its earlier magnificence, situated only 25 kilometers from Eger, La Contessa Castle Hotel**** awaits its honored guests in Szilvásvárad.The neo-barock castle, situated in a 7-hectare botanical park offers the elegant and relaxing atmosphere of old times.The hotel consists of 45 double rooms providing palatial pomp; the comfort of modern ages is represented by a wellness division of 650 square meters and by two conference halls that are perfect venues for smaller training sessions and presentations. The constantly updated wellness packages of the hotel and the local sights and programs offer a relaxing experience you will always remember.

We had our wedding here last Saturday (British-Hungarian) and I must say we had a fantastic time! The entire hotel staff was very attentive, kind and did their best to accommodate all our requests and cater to our guests from different backgrounds and cultures. Special thanks go to Judit, our events manager and Attila, the hotel manager without whom our wedding wouldn’t have been such a huge success.
Another highlight was the food! Given it was a two-day event, we tasted lots of different meals from canapés and sandwiches through buffet breakfasts and dinners, all the way to an elegant three-course meal. On all occasions La Contessa didn’t disappoint; their chef is incredible and on behalf of all our guests, we’d like to say a huge thanks to everyone who played part in preparing these magnificent dishes.
I really can’t think of anything that could have gone better and for that reason, you have my highest recommendation and I encourage everyone to go and experience it for themselves.

Good location. Great view especially from a room with a balcony located in a manor house. We booked half board and were very disappointed with dinner which was very sparse and the selection was not large. In addition, we had a very unpleasant experience. We were stuck for 25 minutes in the elevator. After we were rescued by a maintenance man, none of the staff came to ask how we were! It was only after I started raising my voice that the hotel manager was called at the reception. At first he offered us a 50 percent discount, and after I said that it did not compensate for the terrible experience we had, he agreed not to charge for the stay ours at the hotel.

We had spent one night at this hotel because of a wedding ceremony.
This hotel is an old (but 100% renovated) castle from the ~19th century, which was build according to the traditional Hungarian architecture.
The location where the castle located is purely amazing.
Estate of the castle is miracle (parks, walkways & fountains etc..) excellent for organizing a bigger wedding ceremony as well. >> Highly recommended.
Staff are very kind and well prepared as well.
Rooms (according to the photos) are very-very beautiful >> absolutely clean and quite. Each bathrooms have an own infrared saunas >> was unbelievable.
The hotel complex is included more buildings (main + outbuilding, entertainment and event house etc..) >> Wellness area and the restaurant is in the main building,
What was very unique from my personal point of view was the restaurant because it is absolutely age-appropriate.
Parking with car is free.
All in all, I very recommended for everybody if you want to spend some days with relax in a very special and beauty places.

The castle hotel has been renovated before. The surroundings of the hotel are beautiful, clean and well maintained. During the renovation, what was left of the past has been preserved. (We were in the castle building.) The basement wellness area is satisfactory in all respects. The staff is very polite, the food and drink supply and the kitchen are excellent. (Drink prices aren’t cheap.) Anyone who loves calm and quiet will find it here.

Excellent rooms and breathtaking view from our windows. The pool area was fine for the children and we could also relax there.The food was OK , we missed some fruit in the morning , but survived without it . The dinner is quite traditional Hungarian food , but nice and there was always an option for vegetarians .
