Let me start by saying that we didn't stay at Xanadu. We wound up here for dinner on our one night in Ayampe. The views are lovely, and the staff who waited on us were great. There were several people coming and going, enjoying the evening and the view, and a bit later a few groups of people came in...

we ate at the restaurant here a few times because it was always open while two of my friends stayed there. im not sure if they always do this, it seemed new, but it was a pay by donation hotel. the reason im reviewing it, is because they started kicking people out while we were there, for no reason, but...

Our trip to Ecuador wouldn't have been complete had we not met Gerry at Xanadu and survived the jungle death cruise and the monster burger! The minute you arrive you feel such a relaxed, calm feeling that it's hard to pull yourself away. Between the amazing food, even better music and blended margaritas.....Xanadu offers a slice of heaven to anyone...

Thanks to the crew at Xanadu for a great honeymoon experience. Definitely the most romantic place we stayed at in Ecuador. Beautiful clean rooms, staff are very helpful and it's a friendly atmosphere all round. Will come back to Xanadu as soon as we can!

Escape from City Life I wanted to visit Ayampe after hearing friends living in the city speak so highly of this treasure. If a peaceful ambiance is what you crave-head out here. I finally had the opportunity to hit the road with visitors and after reading the reviews Xanadu seemed to call out to me. Gerry received us upon arrival...

I was fortunate enough to live in Ayampe for four months. This town is a beautiful little secret filled with warm people and chill vibes. Each visit to Xanandu felt completely natural, as if I lived there and was part of Gerry's and Chili's family-both who are warm, inviting and gracious people! Together, Gerry and Chili create a chill vibe...

Keith is the perfect host. Makes you feel right at home. Relaxation is the key...hammocks, and swings everywhere. Very clean with lots of thoughtful little additions. The whole community of Ayampe is a wonderful place to get away to, and definitely a place to go back to. A little piece of paradise!

I was fortunate enough to stay at the cutest hotel in Ayampe - Xanadu! What I found there was a beautiful, hospitable and super friendly refuge from all the stresses of our fast-paced world. The owner, Gerry Lakas is extremely helpful, fun and full of wit and wisdom and his associate Chilli is very attentive to the needs of her...

Was recommended Xanadu by a friend who lives in Ayampe and couldn't have been more grateful. Stayed for 4 or so days while the surf was flat at Lobitos (Peru) for a change of scenery. After several weeks in the Peruvian desert, the lush surroundings of Ayampe were a real treat. The Xanadu house is a lovely wooden affair, carefully...
