Spent 3 days and 2 nights at El Campito Art Lodge together with some of the family. The cabins are very comfortable and are surrounded by trees and plants, enjoyed all the natural greener and the paths between the cabins and the restaurant. The typical breakfast of the area was really good. Would recommend this place to whoever is looking...

It is a place to feel the nature. The rooms are small cottages surrrounded by a lot of cocoa trees. If you want to sleep quietly, just stay inside your room and the silence will do the work. You can enjoy delocious food or near the hotel you have a lot of traditional places to eat food from the coast...

The best part for us was the forest. Being there but so close to the beach was like being in the middle of two different worlds. Away from the noise of the town nearby the quietness was heaven. The hut (room) was clean, air conditioning, hot water, satellite tv. Food was great also. Will come back again whenever we need...

Loved the atmosphere surrounding El Campito, all the green and the cabins make it a great place to relax and be in touch with nature. It's location it's ideal to stay near the places we wanted to visit, and far enough to give a secluded and private feel. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive to our needs, and we loved...

I’m baffled by the positive reviews that are posted but it seems like keskidee’s post was a bit similar to our experience—if it had been posted sooner, there is no way we would have stayed at El Campito. This property is vastly overpriced considering the many issues it has and for the price, you would expect much, much more. It...

we stayed in mid July, pros and cons! pros, the compound is beautiful, the rooms were all beautifully laid out, relatively new and the cleaners try their best to do a thorough job. Alejandro and his wife, also the other lady who does the day shift were all very pleasant. Thank god for the bikes, or the kids would be...

After spending time at another place in Ayampe, and having to endure hordes of crazy teen ager behavious and "up all night" partying teens , The Campito Art Lodge was Eden . It is a beautifully secluded place with nice facilities, clean and peacefull. 5 stars all the way ,

El Campito Art Lodge was an amazing way to disconnect from the horrible city life, the accommodations of a great hotel in a rural setting, it has a river going through the property that creates this soothing effect, theres a beautiful beach 200 m. Away from cabin, Where you can surf and take advantage of the beach which is incomparable....

"El Campito" is, by far, the best accomodation I have found in the Montañita-Olón-Ayampe-Puerto Lopez Area. We started going there about a year ago, and we go every time we can afford to do so. The cabins are simple but well equipped, sobberly and decorated with wood art. (The whole campito is) they are close to ayampe beach (5min) las...

When looking for the perfect "get away" from the hussle and bussle of everyday life, this is the place to be. Granted you can enjoy the people watching of all the tourists and night life in the well known town of Montañita to the south, not to mention the beach of Los Frailes to the north, amongst other small towns...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
El Campito is a complex of cabins lauded as an ecological art lodge, and is surrounded by primary and secondary rainforest (as opposed to the area's predominant dry forest). It is just a few minutes away from the beach of Ayampe, retaining a private and secluded feel. The high-end bungalows with exposed brick interiors and earthly tones all have private porches with hammocks. The nicer ones have king-sized beds and flat-screen TVs with Direct TV, and the VIP suite even has a private outdoor Jacuzzi. However, there is also a pool and a Jacuzzi that any of the guests can use. El Campito's common area-with intricate wood-carved statues, wicker furniture and pool tables-combines nature and art. ... more   less

“Room 5 which is the biggest is very nice but its kinda out by itself, more private i suppose, but there is an open agricultural lot along side it and we saw a farmer chopping at branches, he could see us plainly on the jacuzi deck, the room can get damp and smelt mouldy, the jacuzi jets and pump did not work well at all. room6 is huge a 6 member family can fit in there, 7 and 8 were like mirror rooms very nice layout. i am sure all the rooms are nice.”
