As part of my Mother’s birthday celebration on Sunday 21st May we went to her favourite local restaurant. As ever, from the time for over 10 years when we used to go as a family with my father as well, we had an excellent meal. The service was superb with everyone we encountered friendly, helpful and extremely efficient. The cosy...

We want for our anniversary dinner here and it was a unforgettable experience. The food blown us away. From the presentation through the taste to the attention to detail. Service was brilliant as well. We were sat in a private room on first floor which was very good. This is a must go restaurant!

We were part of a party who enjoyed a delicious lunch in the private dining room on Sunday. The roast beef was delicious and the service great. The room was decorated in a classic style and was very clean. Even though we were away from the main dining area we were not forgotten. A stunning birthday cake was presented too.

The owner greeted us on arrival and could not have been more helpful. Our room was good, a bit small. It was a twin room, well equipped - even an ironing board, but a bit of a squeeze to put it up. Good supply of hot drinks - excellent hot choc. Home made biscuits - yum. Bath was wonderful -...

Our dinners were beautifully presented, well cooked and the combination of flavours superb. We all agreed that both the food and service could not be faulted. If I had to find something that I...

Having completed leg one of the Rutland round 13 miles or so the hotel was just what was required. Friendly reception, lovely room and plenty of hot water for a much needed bath. The evening meal was superb I had the veggie haggis and pearl barley and couldn't fault it, and the brownie for dessert really hit the spot. The...

We spent a night here over the Easter holiday while attending a concert locally. Unfortunately the dining room hours coincided with the concert, so we had supper in the pub across the street. Breakfast was very good. It's an old building so there are stairs and thin walls, but the bathroom was immaculately clean and it was a pleasant overnight...
