Stopped here on C2C walk (breaking up the Orton to Kirkby Stephen leg). A lovely relaxing country house feel. Transport to two lovely pubs in Ravonstonedale for evening meals and the chance to relax with a drink back at the House afterwards. Hosts were welcoming, friendly and helpful with information etc. Worth a C2C stop off after the climbs in... More

Our last night's accommodation on the Dales High Way and it could not have been better. Drew and Hilary are the perfect hosts and definitely 'go the extra mile', from drying shoes to providing lifts (as we had no transport) and providing afternoon tea and a tasty breakfast. The room was very comfortable, with a good shower and a bed... More

Stayed one night - last night of the Dales High Way walk. From first minute to last a great place to stay. Stunning location, genuine warm welcome (with tea and cake!), comfy rooms with all facilities, huge breakfast and a lift to/from a nearby pub for an evening meal. Great place and very good value.

Three tired walkers stayed here in May 2014 at the end of a long days walk from Bampton Grange. Firstly stunning views, secondly Hilary was very welcoming, even though we were a bit late and then we were showered and ready for a beer mein host Drew drove us into the lovely village of Ravenstonedale (The Black Swan) where they... We came back here for a second time this August and once again couldn't fault a thing. The house is set in beautiful countryside and gardens which are immaculate. Hilary gave us a warm welcome and by the time we had got our bags to our room we felt right back at home. The rooms are light and airy and... More
