This hotel is sort of basic but in a very nice way. The room was good size--comfy bed--great view--and A/C--what more could we ask for?? The beach is breath taking and don't want to forget to mention the staff, especially Erica. It was like finding a peaceful gem--we all enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is small with only about 24 rooms. Room number 1 and 14 have balconies that look to the ocean. Most rooms have ocean views. This is a tipical small family run Mexican Hotel, sometimes the AC goes out or the water stops but it's quickly fixed. The pool is nice and you can walk on the beach for... More

I was tempted to give them a terrible review just to keep th place from being overrun and ruined, but I dounbt I would have any effect that wasy and it's going to happen anyway and will likely ruin everything here. The location is spectacular and wonderfully secluded. There aren't many places on earth where you can stay on such... More

The rooms are small but clean. No WiFi. Very nice pool. Very friendly service from the staff. The restaurant is adequate for a small property. We were there with friends and thought that the hotel price of 700 pesos per person per night was very excessive so we only stayed one night.

I actually camped here. They have a beautiful pool and bar with a fantastic view of the beach. I spoke to one of the guests and he was happy with the room. The owner is exceptionally kind and went out of his way to help me if I needed anything.

The location of the Hotel Mayto cannot be beat, smack-dab in front of an incredible beach. The pool is nice, and the small outdoor restaurant serves unexpectedly good food. But . . . the service is uneven, to put it nicely. Some of the people who worked there were helpful, but others were dour and unhelpful. My bedroom was just... More

After making a reservation months in advance,, also calling twice before arriving to get there and find out or requested room was given to someone else. Not all bad things have to be bad. We found a place about 4 miles away that makes Hotel Mayto look like the pit it is. We have always stayed at Hotel Mayto because... More

The hotel is a bit rustic but clean. It is on a secluded beach and a great place if you want to relax and do absolutely nothing but maybe read a book and meditate. The hotel has a restaurant and bar which was not opened on our arrival so we had to go out and explore for dinner. The only... More

We spent 4 days/3 nights over the New Year's and it was wonderful. Getting there was a bit difficult (ended up hiring a taxi at the airport- was about a 2-3 hour trip) but well worth it. We were the only non-native Spanish speaking guests there. It is where the Mexicans vacation. The beach was unspoiled and went for miles.... More
