Cape Borda is a unique remote place where you can feel the vibe of the past. We went there with a normal sedan, but a 4x4 would have been a much better choice. The local staff was very friendly and the accommodation super spacious for a family of four.

This cosy little hut is wonderfully remote but worth the drive to get to it. It is quite basic but cheap at $50 a night… Mick the ranger lives in his lodgings 50m away, he is a real character and greets you on arrival… if there is a problem you can go to him. Inside there are two comfortable single...

My husband and I stayed at Hartley Hut, which was basic but had everything that we needed. The only thing that I found a little disconcerting was the fact that the toilet was located just behind the house but within a covered section. There was a door to keep out "visitors" like kangaroos but it cannot be locked. Anyhow, it...

We liked our stay at Cape Borda but be aware that it is far away from any other main attractions on the island! The nature is beautiful and we were able to see a lot of wildlife. We also did the tour during which the canon was fired and the walk to Harvey's Return and can absolutely recommend it.

We loved our stay in the Flinders Light Lodge and wish we had more than one night. The house is large and has everything you will need in terms of amenities. Obviously there is nothing out there, so you need to take in all of your food, but the kitchen was well equipped with crockery, cooking utensils etc. Make sure...

Stayed one night in Hartley Hut for my birthday. Was very basic but had everything we needed. It was very warm. Was great to experience the remoteness and get back to basics. We had a beautiful sunset which we enjoyed whilst observing the frisky kangaroos. Road wasn't great into Cape Borda but that's standard for KI.

The cottage (Woodward Hut) and our two day stay was wonderful. Small (as expected) but all that we needed with clean linen, fridge, heater, kitchen gear etc. . Coupled with gorgeous weather - sunshine and calm seas during the day, with a clear sky with full moon at night. Completed the tour that was informative and entertaining thanks to Mick....

Very special place to stay. We had perfect weather and a lovely sunset. Nice to watch with a wine and the friendly kangaroos and wallabies at our feet. Very special feeling spending the night in a very quiet and peaceful location with the welcoming light from the light house flashing through out the night. Our only neighbour was Mick, the...

This is a nice accommodation next to the lighthouse at Cape Borda at the north eastern end of Kangaroo Island, inside Flinders Chase National Park and is run by Parks SA. We were the only residents for the night, except for the family of kangaroos keeping us company on the lighthouse grounds. We also had the fortune to get a...
