Room ok. No bathroom . Sink in bedroom. Biggest problem was bizarre sockets hexagonal shape recessed. Could not use our travel kettle. ? Swiss design or budget ibis design ? Staff friendly . Had inner room for our cycles.
I use this hotel because it's walking distance from the airport. I booked a room because I had an early flight the next day. When arriving at Ibis Budget Palexpo, the receptionist came out to explain that Ibis Palexpo was closed, despite still taking bookings. The receptionist gave me a bus ticket (had to take two buses) and told me which stop to get off at. I took both buses and got off at the stop she'd written down for me. No Ibis. I phoned Ibis Palexpo, she told me the hotel was close, just to walk down the road (she knew I had huge luggage with me, from my arrival at Palexpo Ibis). Still no Ibis hotel. FINALLY, I found it. But no. STILL the wrong hotel. By this point, I'd been looking for my hotel for 2 1/2 hours. I was stuck in Geneva, no contacts, no one to help. Fortunately, Ibis budget (wrong hotel) got me a taxi which I insisted they pay for. Eventually, I arrived at a 3rd (and correct) Ibis. Located in the middle of an industrial estate. Nowhere near the airport OR the bus stop the receptionist had directed me to. Had to get a taxi to the airport in the morning, 20chf. The shuttle bus they usually offer wasn't running. So much for an easy overnight stay within walking distance of the airport. 1) WHY would Ibis close the airport hotel? The one most likely to be used. 2) WHY would they still take bookings for a CLOSED hotel? 3) WHY would they not arrange transport from the closed hotel to the open one, instead of relying on a public bus system that didn't go anywhere near the changed hotel? 4) Why would they choose to relocate guests in a hotel that is impossible to find, instead of one on a main road (Ibis budge)? 5) Why transfer airport Ibis guests to a hotel with no shuttle to the airport? Very very poor service.…
Low prices for this hotel located a few hundred meters from the airport, it is not a charming hotel but a practical hotel, small clean and healthy room, the breakfast service starts very early and it is a great advantage, the staff is friendly and professional, excellent value for money
I was kinda hesitant with this hotel at first thinking that the room might be so small. But as soon as we entered the room I fell inlove with it. The bed was huge and comfortable. My son also loved the double deck bed and he thinks it was so cool. The room is just enough for some luggage too. The toilet is really clean and spacious. It is just walking distance from the airport but there are also free public buses that can take you there and other areas downtown and its just outside the hotel. We werent able to try there breakfast since we have early appointments but i saw the food and i think its worth a try next time.
Booked this room last minute because of an early morning flight and immediately after we came in, the receptionist probably was trying to be candid and guess my name when I tried to check in, but she botched up and said an Asian name and it really left a bad taste in my mouth (We're Filipino, and we get enough comments on it while in Europe). Thought that was extremely unprofessional the way that was handled. Other than that, room was ready, and location is fine. Experience was terrible.
