This pub out in the back of beyond is a very popular eating place and once you eat you will understand why. The food is excellent and the staff are most attentive. Great base for exploring Wells, Bath and Cheddar area.

We have visited the hunter rest a couple of times in the past and most recently today. Every time we have eaten a meal here we have never been disappointed and where many pubs we used to enjoy have gone downhill, the hunter rest have remained consistently good. The menu is extensive and in the mid range price, most main...

Stayed over the one night on business. Checked in at the bar and was promptly shown to my room. Impressive bedroom with four-poster bed, large flat screen TV, and settee. The bathroom was big enough to hold a dance in, with double wash-hand basins, bath and large shower enclosure. Good selection of real ales in the bar/lounge area. Decent choice...

Stayed here as a couple for 3 nights, and enjoyed every minute. Great room with heaps of coffee, tea, biscuits, hot chocolate. Nice and comfortable room with excellent breakfast and evening meals. Beer is well kept, helpful staff at all times, nice locals and plenty of parking. Not to be missed.

My wife and I visited the hunters rest for a couple of days get away, all we wanted was to eat, walk, drink, eat and a bit more drinking. The hunters rest did not let us down at all. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the food was gorgeous and I was kept well hydrated throughout my stay. The...

Thanks for taking the time to write your review. I am sorry that things were not as expected. From your photos we can see that the main problem was the debris in the sinks and bath. After you departed we realised there was a drainage problem, a back up was occurring from another area during the day. It is frustrating...

We stayed here for 2 nights, booked rather last minute. Absolutely zero complaints from the moment we walked in and were greeted at the bar. The staff were all so helpful and each night we had a table reserved for us (without having to ask) so we didn't have to fight the weekend crowds. Food was all delicious and the...

Stayed for one night break - and from the moment we arrived the welcome was amazing. A beautiful old Inn set in some stunning countryside with real good old fashioned personal service - even though the restaurant was busy we were shown to the room and a table was reserved for dinner. The room was beautiful, clean, homely and with...
