During our trip to the UK in 2011 we stayed at Walford Court and couldn't believe what a fantastic place this is to stay. So this year (June 2016) on our trip to the UK we organised our tour to stay there again, this time for 4 nights. The rooms are big, airy and light and beds very comfortable plus...

Greeted with a warm welcome to a quaint old building in a good location. Shown to The Aragon Suite with a magnificent very comfortable four poster bed. There were however many original low beams. No en-suite but there was a bath in the bedroom! Entrance to the suite was through a lounge which included a toilet compartment having just a...

Thank you so much for taking time to write a lovely review. We have 3 very different and very characterful rooms, 2 of which are Suites with separate sitting rooms. Because the rooms are so different we don't allocate rooms to guests, they are advertised with photographs so guests can choose their favourite! We actually chose Walford Court as our...

We stayed here for our first wedding anniversary. The place was absolutely full of character and very quirky. No locks on the bedroom doors! But you didn't really need one. Debbie and Craig were very friendly, and the breakfast was excellent. They had there own hens, so fresh eggs in the morning! Yummy. The room was perfect with its own...

Our kids booked a one night stay for our wedding anniversary. We were greeted by Craig initially, meeting Debbie later. We were shown to our room and made to feel very much at home. The room itself Prince Arthur's, was gorgeous very well equipped with a very comfy king size bed, wardrobe , sofa. The hosts clearly put a lot...

Wow such a lovely review from such lovely people! We ALWAYS appreciate that guests take the time to review us and always intend to acknowledge, but the business of preparing rooms and baking takes over! So thank you so much for saying such lovely things and it was our absolute pleasure to share the tales of this lovely old house...

Have had a great weekend break - fab accommodation, made to feel so welcome by Debbie and Craig. Lots of little extras and special touches and great breakfasts. Good food recommendations nearby like the jolly frog. Would thoroughly recommend.

Walford Court is a lovely place to go. It was hard to know what to do first. Go for a cycle in the beautiful countryside, lounge around in the beautiful accommodation with muffins, roll top baths in a wonderful and historic house or watch the resident chickens. Debbie and Craig are lovely without being intrusive, the breakfasts were divine. The...

We had a great stay at Walford with a couple of friends. Our hosts were friendly but not intrusive, the suites were beautiful and really well furnished and decorated. Tasty muffins every day were an added treat and an honesty bar was a nice touch also. Looking out on the gardens it was fab to see the many chickens free...

I'm so glad you had a relaxing stay, I know the garden birds were being particularly noisy at the back of the house ....springtime (!) but with a 20 foot long bedroom we were able to re-arrange the bed and the furniture so you were on the opposite side of the room and were able to enjoy improved sleep for...

A wonderful relaxing stay, with a glorious amount of space in the courthouse suite, extremely tasty breakfast and muffins, an extremely comfortable bed and a glorious bath. We will definitely be back! Be sure to keep your directions close by as this place is tricky to find in the dark - but overall a glorious experience. Thank you Debbie and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Walford Court is a 500 year old listed property, which was once a Courthouse. Its sits amongst one of the most tranquil and scenic spots in the country just a short drive from Ludlow; one of our guests commented that it was "reminiscent of the Darling Buds of May era." At Walford Court, we take our green surroundings seriously and have been awarded both wildlife and environmentally friendly awards. A stay at Walford Court is a must for anyone who loves good quality food. You'll find local cheeses, local organic muesli and local apple juice on the breakfast table, and we are 3 times winners in the Flavours of Herefordshire awards. Everything possible is home grown and home baked in the Aga - we provide candlelit evening meals in the old dining room with the exposed bread oven - or in the garden by the stream. As everything is home baked we can cater for special diets. Treat yourself to a romantic stress relieving weekend at the old courthouse. ... more   less
