Globales Playa Estepona garners praise for its cleanliness and spacious rooms, though some guests have mentioned areas for improvement and concerns about noise and privacy. The hotel buzzes with a vibrant atmosphere and lively entertainment, yet this may be overwhelming for those seeking tranquility. Its water park and pools are often lauded, but the variety of room amenities and dining options receive mixed reviews. Service encounters vary, with commendations for staff friendliness alongside critiques of slow problem resolution. Situated remotely, visitors suggest transportation is needed for local exploration. Additionally, some guests feel the hotel does not provide good value, citing extra costs and disappointing food quality.

Last night at the playa estepona an we have had a great time but can see why people can find negatives. We our a family of 4 with two girls 4 an 6 they have absolutely loved it. We stayed in majorca room 14 bottom floor was very quiet.

Pros

Very clean. maid cleaned room an changed bedding towels etc every an the whole complex is spotless which is amazing cos it's massive. People say about the ants but it's their own fault they leave drinks outside the rooms in corridor for maids to get instead of not being lazy an taking them back over so it attracts the ants.

Entertainment girls loved kids Club an the mini disco at end of night the animation team are fantastic an they are so great with the kids. Everyone of them are brilliant at their jobs girls really took to them an my youngest is really shy .

Pools again all spotless something for every Age group the slides u have to be 120cm so my youngest couldn't go on them but there is 2 pools for them with slides an water features so plenty to do.

Food is fine it's not amazing but they have to cook for 400 odd rooms 3 times a day it's not going to be something off Gordon ramsay. Always somethinf to pick from an yes it's repetitive but we wer never ill an yes there are a lot of flies but it's like that everywhere dinning room is constantly getting cleaned an chefs are always out cleaning around the food

Cons

Beach is awful walked up one night see if it wad any better further down an it's not and it stinks but the hotel offer a free bus 3 times a day to Puerto banus which is lovely an the beach your missing here

There's a lot of stuff u have to pay for which I don't think u should have to in an all inclusive. Slushes ice creams certain drinks then the safe is quite expensive an we couldn't get hold of an iron until the 7th day an that was expensive again

Entertainment I can see why people moan it's basically for the kids an I would say under 10s if not younger could maybe do a little something for the older kids. But as I said we found it great due to our kids ages .

I have to big negatives tho firstly the transfer from the airport took 2 an half hours it was as long as the flight really bad with two young kids an then my main one the beds are twin beds so it's just two singles pushed together so uncomfortable cos they slip on the floor definitely need a double bed for a better night's sleep. But all in all a great hotel great staff all polite but there is a few little things u can improve on but I can't understand how this place has so many bad reviews cos it's a very nicely run hotel thanks for a lovely stay just get me double bed next time 😄

We stayed at this hotel, for 10 nights recently the hotel is excellent but the food was very bland, very poor menu, I asked for skimmed milk on the first morning but had to wait until day 8 before any was provided, mushrooms were in a dish behind the porridge and they continually ended up on the porridge, the bacon was lying in a dish of fat and always cold. At dinner the soup was continually cold and be drunk through a straw, there were no cold meats or cold fish to accompany the salad, the vegetables were continually cold and dishes were never replenished. Saturday night was the only occasion for a generous display of deserts, other night it was jars of yoghurts, once the ice cream container was emptied it was never replaced. We have never used so much of the microwave to heat our food up. There were some evening it was impossible to have your table cleared of dirty dishes. This Hotel is not suitable for older people, there is only a short promenade and to walk to the nearest supermarket a mile away you have to walk along the side pavement of a busy dual carriageway. The beach in front of the hotel consists of earth and stones, definitely not for us. I would advise anyone thinking of visiting this hotel to take a kettle with you or you will be charged 5 euros a day to hire one.

Dear Christine, Globales Playa Estepona closed last October and we will open again next May. We think that there has been a misunderstanding and you stayed in another hotel. We do not have charge that amount (5€) for hiring a kettle and the location you describe does not match with our hotel. We would appreciate if you take all these above mentioned facts into consideration. Kind regards.

We visited Playa Estepona at the beginning of September the weather was fantastic 30degrees +

The transfer took approx 1 hour & when we arrived at the hotel we were greeted and given our rooms. It was late so we was told the restaurant was open for us to grab a snack which was disappointing unless you like sushi and dry bread? A bit of soup & butter for the bread would have been nice? There was nothing for the boys aged 5&6.

The rooms were clean and tidy, fresh towels when required & clean bedding. There’s a safe, fridge, TV & free working aircon. We didn’t have any problems with the rooms.

The pools were fantastic, I think 5 or 6 pools maybe more? The hotel was so big I don’t think we got around it all. There’s a pool for everyone! Splash park was excellent for the little ones however, they wernt big enough to go on the water park 120cm height restriction.

Food - I disagree with most of the comments on here because I am the most fussy eater ever & I managed to find something I enjoyed every meal. Beautiful salads & meats you can’t go wrong, there’s even an outdoor bbq! There’s a snack bar near the beach for lunch which the kids loved. Lots of flies and birds but what do you expect when you eat on the sea front - the boys loved feeding the pigeons.

Entertainment was brilliant! Pool games & sports activities throughout the day by the main pool. We didn’t make use of the kids club in the day but loved the mini disco especially Globy the hotel mascot, my boys were overwhelmed with him. He made their holiday 😍 there were also bingo, raffle & a different show every night. We enjoyed the animation team variety show the most!

Drinks are available all day long: soft drinks are self served, wines, Beers, free cocktails, everything really and it’s not watered down, we managed to get tipsy a few nights! 😝

Location is a little bit rubbish but there is so much to do in the hotel, we only ventured out once to Puerto Banus, a free 10 min bus was provided by the hotel twice a day. I would recommend going on the later one as most shops don’t open until noon. There’s also a free bus to Marbella. Oh and an Aldi at the end of the street should you need to go? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Forgot to mention Murphys bar near the hotel but no comment as we didn’t go.

If you are thinking about booking this hotel and you’re easy going and don’t moan about every little detail then you will have an amazing time. This is our second Globales hotel and loved both.

Thank you for a fantastic holiday!

Very disappointed, we arrived here for a 6day stay after being moved from our original hotel Los patos globes benalmadena. Having experienced many family hotels at Los patos we was very disappointed with this hotel even thou this hotel is ran by the same company how different the service could be. Ok so the slides are great but shame about the rest , the food was always cold not much of variety, the rooms were not cleaned properly: ants everywhere and the staffs attitude towards people was not welcoming. If you chose to stay at a globe's hotel please go to Los patos benalmadena where the staff are incredible: including the life guards , the kitchen staff , the cleaners, the director. At Los patos the welcoming service you get is amazing always ready the go the extra mile , I would advise they look at the difference between their hotels.

Dear Chloe, Thank you very much for your review on Tripdvisor. We are very glad to read that you are very fond of Globales Los Patos and very sorry to read that we have not met your expectations. Regarding the food temperatures we have taken notes and spoken with our main Chef to see what has happened as you have been the firs guest to tell us about the food. We would like to apologize about our staff attitude. In this pandemic times and with the new reality among us, here in Spain is mandatory to use mask both indoors and outdoors. That is the reason, our staff were asking you to use the mask for your safety and the rest of our guest and staff. if you give us a new opportunity next year when this Pandemic is over(with no mandatory use of mask) you will see how friendly our staff is. Kind regards.

Restaurant the worst- food very repetitive, bland and tasteless. As a vegetarian I found it really difficult as nothing was labelled. The dinning space isn’t big enough for the amount of people using the hotel. Long queues to enter, particularly at breakfast. Queuing to get your food but which point what’s on your plate is cold. It’s just utter chaos and not enjoyable. Reminds me of a school canteen!

Rooms were cleaned well and the maids worked very hard however we were continually woken at 9am for room service. Should be later!

Pools were good and the slides great for the children however, I don’t like that the hotel accepts people on day passes which makes the weekends VERY busy!

Entertainment is shocking! Same thing day in day out. Even down to the same playlists around the pool! We could pretty much guess what song would be played next!

There’s nothing around the hotel expect for a dirty beach and abandoned buildings, you have to spend a fortune to venture out into Marbella or estepona.

It’s the first holiday we’ve ever been on where we are glad to get home!

Overall- if you want chaos, screaming, loud music and queuing this is your hotel!

Dear Guest, Thank you very much for your review. We are sorry to read that we have not met your expectations. We have already talked to the chef in order to find out why in the days you were you could not find the labels, since our kitchen staff labelled the food three times a day. We kindly ask guests struggling with food, such as intolerances, allergies, vegan or vegetarian, to ask to our staff in restaurant to help with the food that suits you. We offer our guests a free three time daily bus to Puerto Banús so they can enjoy one of the most famous luxury Harbours in Europe. Kind regards

We have just returned home after staying at this hotel for 9 days. The location of it could have been better as there are derelict buildings around, but didn’t spoil the atmosphere of the hotel itself. Reception was quite slow upon arrival. The rooms was lovely and clean and bed very comfy. We had a view of the main pool over looking the sea which was lovely. Staff was always friendly and accommodating. The entertainment staff was great and worked so hard to make sure that guest enjoyed themselves. Tyson, Christian and the others were especially great with guests.
The food was lovely and you had different varieties to choose from. If you like fish, on one night you could help yourself to fresh, prawns, muscles, lobster and other sea food, which was delicious. The staff was always very attentive in the restaurant and worked hard to make sure plates was cleared when finished. The themed nights was also good.
You could choose different pool areas to go to if you didn’t like the main one, which had music playing all day. Water slides was great for the kids and adults.
One thing I would say is that it would have been good to have designated areas for people to smoke.
Overall this was a lovely place to have spent our holiday and Gibraltar and Puerto Banus are definitely worth a visit.

Me and my Wife took our 4 children (11,8 and 18month old twins), The resort is massive with loads to do, including kids clubs, activities, Trampolines, Slides, Splashpark etc.
The kids had an amazing time on the slides and in the pools and our twins loved it in the splash park which has a sand pit area.
There are some lovely gardens with benches to sit on in the sun while the kids run round with a ball.
We found our own routine of where to go at what time and which pools to be around when we wanted quieter times of the day to relax when the twins had their nap
The staff were amazing throughout and super friendly - Especially the restaurant staff who ended up having one of our twins get her picking her up and giving cuddles everyday
The food was great, with so much to choose from, there was always something different each night and you also had the choice to book a table at the beach house restaurant where they did special cuisine nights such as italian, mexican etc.
Our rooms were a really good size, we had interconnecting rooms facing the slides, the views were amazing, always cleaned with fresh bedding and towels, bins emptied when requested by putting the green tag on the door.
We did venture out to the Lidl round the corner other than that we did not go anywhere else due to having enough to entertain us at the resort.
Entertainment was fantastic kids loved it every night up and dancing and the entertainment team did well to keep people entertained by the pool through the day by playing water polo and dancing etc,

Only negative view i would have but it is more of a constructive comment, is ice creams, trampolines, slushies etc should be included with the all-inclusive price

I am not sure how this place gets negative reviews as our experience was fantastic and would highly recommend to anyone

We will be back next year Globales Playa Estepona, already looking at dates

Stayed as family of 5 with our 3 boys aged 18, 15 and 9. Fantastic holiday and very good value. Spent a long time researching holidays before we booked and this was the best value.

We stayed in the Cabrera Block which had its own pool and bar, the pool didn't open until 10am which is what made our holiday, it was the first holiday in 7 years during which we didn't have to go down at 'silly o'clock' to reserve sun beds. We joined the queues at 9.50am and got 5 beds together no problem. Even days we went on a trip in the morning we got beds in the afternoon. There was a bar at this pool also with very good service.
.
Our boys usually headed over to the main pool with the waterslides at about 4pm each day for an hour/ hour and a half which was all they needed on the slides.

Restaurant was good, plenty of choice and also had the beach restaurant if you wanted a change. Breakfast was a bit mad if you arrived after 9.15am, but if you want it quieter just get out of bed earlier.

Room very clean, if you like coffee as soon as you get out of bed bring a travel kettle otherwise all the bars have coffee machines all day.

Gym was great, was busy first thing in the morning but I often went as a break from the sun before lunch and had it to myself.

Hotel out on its own but so big it was like a village so could spend your evening just walking around it and the beach. The evening entertainment wasn't great but we loved sitting in the bar at night playing cards.

I went for a run most mornings, first few days I went over the blue bridge to the other side of the dual carriageway and it was very dirty with a lot of rubbish and dog fouling, then discovered that if you ran past Aldi and turned left there was a fantastic circuit for running.

We hired a car through the hotel for day trips to Ronda, Gabraltar, Istan, Puerto de la Duquesa, Marbella and Estapona, we really enjoyed all these trips especially Ronda and Istan. We also took the free hotel shuttle bus to Puerto Banus which was worth a visit but not a repeat visit, the sea was full of jelly fish and all three boys got stung!! Hiring a car was the cheapest option with 5 of us.

All in all a fantastic holiday. If you don't want to hire a car maybe not for you, but if you are happy to do this it is a great base to see a lot of beautiful Spain and a great hotel to relax in when not site seeing. I saw a lot of bad reviews but these are from people who book a reasonably priced holiday expecting 5star, considering what we paid for this compared to other holidays this was fantastic value, the hotel was very clean and we were well fed!!!

After reading the reviews I was worried about some of the comments but arrived home a few days ago the place was great.
Very clean, room spotless
Food had something for everyone, adults and children and we really enjoyed the food from the restaurant and beachfront bar.
My only bad point was the slushes should be in the all inclusive, I don’t see why it is not when all adults alcoholic drink are.
I used the gym, small but lady was very friendly and not over busy.
None of that getting up before the sun to put a towel down it was so big with 3 pools and a sunbathing roof top and a lovely little spot on the grass over looking the sea so never a problem getting a bed.

Just got back from a 7 day break with family.
About a hour bus journey from the airport. Rooms very clean and tidy. Fantastic water park for the whole family which keeps you occupied. Animation team are really friendly also! Food was very good but at times not very hot but that’s standard really for buffets. Beach barman was very friendly and funny!!!!

Pro’s

Good food
Central to nearby places (short taxi journey)
Great for the whole family
Clean and tidy
Staff are very welcoming
Lots of sun beds
Music around the pool with games for everyone
Air conditioning in the rooms
Great atmosphere

Con’s

Entertainment was not all that good
Beach very shingley
Outside the complex not that clean
You have to pay €30 plus €10 euro deposit to use the safe which is very expensive…

Would I visit this hotel again? Yes.

Thank you for a great holiday 😀
